Hello! A long time passed since my last visit... Well! My CD collection of ELO became bigger these days, especially after a jorney I did with my girlfriend to the big city (Buenos Aires) where I bought new albums. Actually, my CD collection has:
- On The Third Day - ElDorado (I finally found it! ) - Face The Music - A New World Record - Out Of The Blue - Discovery - Time - Secret Messages - Alone In The Universe - All Over The World & Ticket To The Moon (both compilations)
And I must get No Answer, ELO II, Balance Of Power, Zoom and From Out Of Nowhere. BTW, I have a doubt about the collection, and I'm asking for an advice. Should I buy some other albums which are not "the studio" ones? I mean, albums like Xanadu, Ole Elo, The Night The Light Went On..., Live 2013 (2001), and other compilations, like Flashback? When do you think a collection is complete?? Of course, talking about CDs, where the singles are simply impossible or simply don't exist... Thank you! Mark.

Congratulations on your collection, if it was me I would buy the CDs of the full albums, my order would be:
Balance of Power Xanadu ELO2 From Out of Nowhere Zoom No Answer
Hope that helps.

Could someone on this forum send you these missing albums? Those 5 albums that you state would cost roughly £70 (approximately 10,000 pesos) if bought new and it would be less than half that if bought second hand. The postage is something I wouldn't know about though.

Thank you so much, Horacewimp! CD collections are something I really love to buy and complete, even when it's about expensive albums! In fact, Balance Of Power was my next target, as I liked Secret Messages and there's a little bridge between both albums. And of course, I heard 30 seconds of every song and I found them "interesting", at least... I think Xanadu must be included too, thank you! It was a doubt, but I guess it's a bit solved now.
BSJ, for rare that it sounds, I couldn't include something with the signature of Jeff Lynne only (but I count the Jeff Lynne's ELO albums as parts of the ELO collection...). I mean, I'm pretty sure that Armchair Theater is a good album (I read lot of good reviews), but if I buy it, it would be for another collection, not for the ELO one!
Timeblue, I really would like to help you, but it's so difficult to find the albums over here too! As you say, they're expensive too, and sometimes is hard to find a good used original copy!
Thank you so much for your comments!

I think you misunderstood what I wrote, I asked if it was possible for someone to send you those missing albums since you cannot find them in your country. Those albums are relatively easy to buy over here and I would imagine in the states too.

I would get the albums rather than compilations, but ... do try to choose versions that have the bonus tracks. Some of those are quite good.

Oh, so so sorry, Timeblue! And thank you so much, it's hard to find some of them at a very reasonable price. I really don't care if they're used or new, or from different editions, but some of them are expensive in one way or another. Probably the hardest one to find now over here is ELO II. Even Xanadu is easy to find, used or new. That's why my next choice is Balance Of Power...
Thank you too, orioles! In fact, some of the CDs I've bought have bonus tracks. The only ones with the original songs are OOTB, Discovery and Time. And the bonus tracks sound really good! In some cases, they complement very good the original album...

if its a rare cd, how about the 24kt gold cd of face the music, the blurb says its better clarity in gold rather than the silver coating on the normal cd, but to be fair i think its down to the quality of your player more than the disk. i bought mine by accident not realising it was the gold one!.
