There's an ELO connection to everything. The meaning of life? Why, its the way life's meant to be....

My own little connection with Prince Philip, my late father served on HMS Magpie, Philips first command (not at the same time though)

Watched Prince Philips funeral and thought it a dignified send off. It was a good chance to get a good look at the incredible inside of St Geo's chapel. The lowering of his casket into the crypt and the Queen sitting by herself surrounded by gorgeous wood carvings. I found his flag interesting, too.

He was younger than he looked then, at the ELO gig, I'd have put him as well into his 40s at that time.
Agree about the dignified send-off and the lovely inside of the chapel. Why weren't we allowed to see the coffin descending into the vault though?

I thought that strange, we were only given a glimpse. Much more interesting then the bagpiper. The horns at the end were neat, too.

I wondered about the coffin descending into the vault. I can only think it was for the same reason TV viewers didn't get to see the Queen being anointed at her coronation. There's some things I think that are deemed too personal for TV cameras.
It was a beautiful funeral. It couldn't have been better and was just how you'd imagine Prince Philip would have wanted. I was very interested in all the music, the horns were especially good and the singing was better than if it had been a full choir. The horse's sugar lumps were a nice touch.
