What can be said about Lou? He put the O in ELO, got a whole new audience Hooked On Classics and leaves a catalogue that will absolutely stand the test of time.

Just heard about his passing, his string arrangements are a huge part of the magic that reserves ELO a special place in my heart, and hopefully will for many generations to come.

I thought, months ago, that we would lose him then, he was so sick. As he improved, I had hope that he would recover. This is such sad news.

May he rest in peace now. His strings arrangements in many ELO masterpieces are a little part of him that will always be there.

Very sad news Louis was the hidden eight member in the magnificent seven period and will be sadly missed, I will play OOTB at high volume in your honour today. RIP Louis.
Message from his wife
"Sadly today Louis, Jemma, Rachel and I had to say goodbye to the most loved, loving and kind man we know. He will be missed in a way that words cannot express. He had been ill for many months. He fought hard, but his time had come. He passed very peacefully surrounded by love. This morning he watched premier league soccer and listened to The Beatles, two things he loved. This afternoon I told him I loved him, he said I love you too, and we kissed. He was gone five minutes later. We love this man forever and always He was a good man, loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. We want to thank family, friends and fans who have always loved and supported him."

Such sad news. RIP Louis, thank you for your string arrangements "so fine". Condolences to those who knew and loved Louis, especially his family and his bandmates in The Orchestra. Glad Louis Jr and Jemma were able to be with their Dad at the end. Wonderful legacy "Sir" Lou. Playing Hooked On Classics right now.
