Thanks for posting all these up, takes you back doesn't it?
I seem to remember having one or two letters published, no idea which issues, looking at the dates of these it must have been around #6-8 I think.
I started buying them around #4 or #5 and a guy named Neil on the south coast mailed me all the earlier issues to photocopy and post back to him. Very trusting of him, looking back!
But then in those distant times the local bobbies went about on pushbikes and nobody ever locked their doors...

Never seen this great interview with Jake Commander. He was there from the start.

I am so appreciative for you posting these. Any way to get a clearer copy of the article "Jeff Lynne on why Roy Wood quit the Band?"

I am so appreciative for you posting these. Any way to get a clearer copy of the article "Jeff Lynne on why Roy Wood quit the Band?" Try these, they aren’t even very clear in the magazine, if they are no good let me know and I’ll try scanning them. If you click the picture it should open in a new window, click this picture again and it should get larger. Thanks, Horacewimp. I could read 98% of what you posted. The story of Roy leaving ELO had several versions over the years, huh?

I don’t know for sure but I think 25 was the last major issue after that it was possible just supplements (which I don’t have) maybe Timeblue can confirm that if he finds his copies. If your email address is the same as you signed up with I’ll scan the Orkestra supplement and email it to you tomorrow, I haven’t the time to scan all the magazines at the moment, sorry. many thanks for the Orkestra scan, duly received I see in the Autumn / Winter 1980 notes by Rob Caiger that ELO signed an 8 record deal. That can't possibly be correct, can it?
I ounce had a dozen of them - purchased them between 2001 - 04, but ended up throwing them out by 2013. Little did I know that Jeff would reactivate a version of ELO not soon thereafter!

Oh gosh, I found this thread via a web search whilst getting bored over Christmas. What memories! I was the typist of all those early issues from 2 onwards (and large parts of the later ones too!). I'm afraid I also did that cringey cartoon on the back of Issue 2 (I must have seen somewhere that Richard smoked (sorry if it upset some - it was a long time ago!).
Those early ones were typed at work when I worked at Harrods Bank of all places. We all sat behind the cashiers which meant the customers in the store could see us so we had to look busy (older UK readers: think World of Sport - that's what it was like). So when there was nothing else to do out came the FTM copy! My fellow copy typist also did those discographies as she loved doing tables on typewriters (but she didn't get a credit for some reason).
There was one issue (the one with fractals on the front - haven't seen it here yet) that was done by me & Gill on my little portable Canon typewriter as Andrew the Ed's computer wasn't available at the time. I typed, she laid out, in the old fashioned copy and paste way.
I do have all the issues somewhere but after several house moves, quite a lot of them are still buried in boxes including the one I mentioned above. I have found some of the others though. Hopefully one day I may clear the boxes, but I've lived in my present abode for over 7 years now and they are still boxed up!
I'll close for now, sorry for digging up such an old thread, but I've really enjoyed the memories!
