He was undoubtedly very talented but his private life left a whole lot to be desired, ending up with a murder conviction. He's not the only creative person to have had a nasty side, whether it diminishes their work or not is debatable.

It's all good entertainment, it doesn't cost a penny

I only hope that we are left to make up our own minds about Phil and are not told how to view him by the media. Just because he's a genius doesn't mean we should overlook his faults and just because he had faults doesn't mean we can't enjoy his music.

It seems a lot of genius people have a nasty side. A curse to go with the gift.

If we want talent we probably have to accept it comes with a catch. Expecting genius without the faults that go with it is unrealistic.
