I'm sure this is one that everyone will have a different opinion on. 2020 was a strange year. Artists had lots of time to write new songs but listening habits were massively disrupted with a lack of commuting or concerts.
Anyway - here's a list as voted on by Baltimore area listeners. The #1 song is a local artist (from DC actually) The War and Treaty. The ones in bold were in my top 10 list. what were the good songs in your area?

this year, they finally have another hit technically it might be a 2019 song, but the album came out this year

Orioles ... were you aware Dan Wilson has been a writer/producer for other acts (including adele, celling dion, keith urban, panic at the disco...and a million others)...check his wiki ...his credits go on forever

yes, but I only learned it recently when I googled "semisonic" a lot of bands don't last long but if the artists have talent, they can usually stay busy working in the industry
the band Jellyfish is another example, they were only around long enough to make 2 albums in the early '90s but Roger Manning and Jason Faulkner are both part of Beck Hansen's touring band each of them have collaborated with a small army of other artists
