not a union issue ..typical Tory ... bad planning and management.
Trying to buy in cheap freelance single resources whist quoting the £100'000's the things cost, hoping the would browbeat them to into working.

And of course, he's the idiot that ruined the 'Live At Wembley 1978' with his silly gimmicks. Surely there must be a 'clean' copy somewhere?....

No wonder Jeff went abroad to avoid the unions... That clip brings to mind the song “Video killed the radio star” The 80s was the MTV generation as cable took over from broadcast TV. Then came the internet and YouTube and Spotify have replaced cable. I wonder what will come next? TIME travel to the year 2095?

I’m the same have the Video and DVD for years, but I thought I saw it on tv around 1979 or 1980 which was unusual back then to show a concert on TV.

I'm sure I saw it on TV before having it on video. Yes that’s what I thought too. Just read that apparently at one of the shows Bob Dylan turned up to watch and met Jeff Lynne for the first time. Never knew that.

It was on the telly because I recorded the audio with one of those old cassette recorders - my Dad rolled in from the pub halfway through and I was desperately trying to shush him

I'm sure I saw it on TV before having it on video. Yes that’s what I thought too. Just read that apparently at one of the shows Bob Dylan turned up to watch and met Jeff Lynne for the first time. Never knew that. I think Bob Dylan met Jeff for the first time when they both had shows at the Budokan in Japan, one day apart. Bob was signing autographs, and Jeff got in line for one. This is one of the true stories in my book.
Here's how Lucky described it in Five Legends Five Guitars.
“Did you first meet Otis when Nelson introduced you for the Traveling Wilburys album?” “Naw. I met Otis in Tokyo, when we were both on tour there. Musta been late seventies. I was sitting on an amp in the wings of the Budokan, watching him sign autographs for dozens of Japanese fans. He was so . . . generous, you know? Talking to each person and signing a personalized message on their thing they had brought in. I would never give autographs like that. I would scribble my name and turn to the next person. Now I don’t sign autographs at all except to sign my paintings and prints. Anyway, at the Budokan, some of the fans started asking me for my autograph. “Otis saw me over there and borrowed a piece of paper from one of his fans. He headed over in my direction and got in line to ask me for my f**king autograph. Can you believe that? He was my fan.”
