First time I’ve heard this, hope he brings out Long Wave 2, would love to hear the full version of this. Nearly burst in to you’ll never alone at the end......

A few years ago, a work colleague who was a big LFC supporter died, at his funeral they sang this. I was stood with a MUFC fan who steadfastly refused to sing it!

I'm an American, but I associate this song with Liverpool because of the Gerry and the Pacemakers version from the 60s. I guess there's more the the story a Yank wouldn't know?

To be truthful,I'm not entirely sure how it became LFCs anthem. All I know is that Gerry and the Pacemakers took it number one in 63 and LFC adopted it...

I was at Anfield watching them play Chelsea who were managed by Jose at the time. The fans in every part of the ground were singing this with scarves held up high, have to say it was really moving and an amazing sight, won’t ever forget it in a hurry.

I'm a Liverpool fan so when I first heard Jeff singing this I was very happy. It is a curious thing, however, that LFC and the Mersey ferry both favour Gerry & the Pacemakers tunes rather than The Beatles. Maybe because The Beatles have more than their fair share of Liverpool the other two important Liverpool institutions decided to be different. Also John Lennon never wrote a song about a ferry.
