They Sent Me This Yesterday:
"Your post in the thread Electric Light Orchestra - Secret Messages as originally intended was deleted. Reason: illegal copyright infringement"
How the heck could I do that if I didn't shared any link of any kind? The only comment I made was to say that "After All" is my favorite ELO instrumental.Tonight I wrote to the Gort who closed the thread and Im waiting for his response because a copyright infringement is a serious accusation and I want to read his explanation if it doesn't convince me what he says I will Leave the Steve Hoffman Forum forever...

Following yet another period offline earlier, the thread has now been moved to the off-topic section of the Hoffman message board, which means it can only be viewed by registered users (despite remaining very much relevant to a music forum). Worst of all, it's almost certainly guaranteed to quickly fade into obscurity now because I've been restricted from contributing anything further to the discussion. In the eyes of Team Jeff, I'm regarded the face of The Bug Club, and this collective is now evidently regarded as a threat to potential revenue. Does this mean there are official releases coming soon, or did the powers that be just finally grow tired of being shown up by a group of connected, knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans? At this point, the only important thing is that I still have contact with my sources.

You're not alone - it's possible to find active threads where links to audio files are being openly traded without any kind of moderation, but between this, several other users informing me they also had posts removed or their accounts locked for similar violations and my own ban taking place without any kind of prior warning being given, I have a very good feeling the "copyright" excuse was just that. Certain elements had been looking to silence me in particular for a while, and they'd tried every other way possible. Sending a threat to shut me down via an uncharacteristic personal message didn't work because I'd been careful to always back up more controversial open claims with hard evidence, so their kind took to ad hominem attacks. Rather than engage these individuals in such discourse, I retreated to editing my book, which only came to exist because of the enthusiasm I'd once received on the very same forum. (Disclaimer: I've notified all my inbox sources that I will be found elsewhere from now on.) In private, contacts were offering their support and even predicting the end, though nobody could believe what appeared to be happening. Despite posting legal disinformation on a message board named after a respected industry figure who is also a regular participant in discussions, one figure seemed immune to the banhammer, yet I wasn't so fortunate. Only after the dust had settled on this event did I learn that Jeff's team had an informant who'd been reading through over 200 pages of mostly informative chat without ever contributing a single word or even making an account, which is a privilege they would have lost when everything was moved to the off-topic section. Knowing they wouldn't be able to continue monitoring this without compromising their anonymity, one final request was made through a specific user: the ultimate act of sabotage against all our hard work, and with that, I'm here writing this about something that was once so great, yet is now very much consigned to the past.

The more I read about these allegations and threats, the more I look towards Jeff and his team as underhand and slightly obsessive operators...

I copied dozens of Shardender's early posts from Steve Hoffman as source material for my Secret Messages trilogy, so that information on my hard drive can't be altered or deleted. It's about fifteen pages of notes in Word.
Let me know if you want to look through it, Shardie.

Let me know if you want to look through it, Shardie. This is a very prudent measure, because by now I would consider SHMF capable of anything. Could you be so kind and make your excerpts available to me? Of course, only if ShardEnder has no objections. I had thought about doing the same myself, but I had been scared off by the immense work.

The whole thread has been downloaded in it’s entirety and is available to view on another site, I won’t provide a link until ShardEnder confirms it is ok to do so.

However, I am not so keen on the whole thread, although I had participated as well. But there were so many crippling arguments and meaningless comments there that it would not be a pity for many of the postings.
