The thread was indeed down for a brief period, but a recent backup had been made on the Internet Archive, and three individuals have been locked out of the discussion as a result of their combined negativity, which saw a few personal comments removed. Secret Messages may now be unofficially available in full as it was truly originally intended, though I suspect there's still a lot more to come. The new "holy grail" for most fans will surely be the 5-20-81 Time double album test pressing, so expect an arms race of sorts for collectors and bootleggers to give this a similar restoration treatment... unless Jeff/Sony can do the right thing for its upcoming 40th anniversary?

I mentioned on the Bug club thread the other day that Time would be the next obvious target, but like you say Jeff has only to say the word....

Sadly it seems Jeff either by his own choice or listening to his management / Craig only really wants to cater for the general fans who are happy with hearing the 'best of hits' either by album or download or his live show music material. He doesn't really want to capture his hardcore fan market (but then I guess the money income isn't there). I guess he / they think whatever he does we will still support him-they are probably right!! Look at the lack of substantive bonus material, or the silliness of a live album having bonus studio tracks and vice versa. He could have easily released the full double SM even as a limited edition album. If he released a full length SM with 'that ' track he would have lanced that particular boil and no-one would now be talking about it. Agreed its not his best track but the fact he almost ignores its very existence gives it mythical status. Sadly because its only' us' his hardcore fans I doubt we will ever see the full Time double album. I hope I'm proved wrong, but the track record tells me otherwise.

Next summer is the 40th anniversary of Time so its a perfect opportunity to do this but like you say, will Jeff cater for us hardcore fans? Only 'time' will tell....

One way or the other, I'm quite confident we'll have Time in full by this time next year. With nothing else of similar value to fans out there, you're going to see a cat-and-mouse game between collectors, bootleggers and Jeff/Sony to be the first to bring this new holy grail to its awaiting audience, no matter how small this may end up being. Remember that the 2019 BSCD2 edition of Secret Messages was only made possible because Rob Caiger had previously mentioned that he could force through a physical edition of pretty much anything if a certain number of sales was guaranteed. Whether it ends up being a more widespread thing, a limited version or even something exclusive to digital platforms, Time will almost certainly receive some kind of 40th anniversary treatment. If not, there's always The Bug Club - we know where the acetates are...

If Time can be done properly by Jeff and the team then I'm prepared to wait...

I hate to be a pessimist, but I am not holding my breath.
(How about that 50th anniversary?)

I for one am VERY thankful for what the Bug Club has given us. Listened to SM on my stereo yesterday. Need to check out the bonus tracks now. My old printer was better for printing CD covers/inserts, but it has sat for too long without being used. The last time I tried to get the tri-color cartridge going it was a struggle. I tried to get my wife to use it for some printings (she likes things on paper), but she'd forget to chose that printer. Have rarely done ones with printing on both sides. But, I will sure save the images on my PC.
My Brother All-In-One has served me well for printing out my 11 x 17 comic boards when I was still doing comic book 'inking', but it was never very good on CD cover stuff compared to my older HP DeskJet 6122.

Following yet another period offline earlier, the thread has now been moved to the off-topic section of the Hoffman message board, which means it can only be viewed by registered users (despite remaining very much relevant to a music forum). Worst of all, it's almost certainly guaranteed to quickly fade into obscurity now because I've been restricted from contributing anything further to the discussion. In the eyes of Team Jeff, I'm regarded the face of The Bug Club, and this collective is now evidently regarded as a threat to potential revenue. Does this mean there are official releases coming soon, or did the powers that be just finally grow tired of being shown up by a group of connected, knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans? At this point, the only important thing is that I still have contact with my sources.
