Finally it's arrived, hooray! Thank you Uno and BSJ! You did such a beautiful work, I love it! More than a month to get here. Only in Italy...I don't know whether to smile or cry lol Nah, you are kidding! What a disaster the Italian mail is! Geez, they don't do justice to "Il postino". At least this is useful to know that if you have to send something to Italy you should send it one month and a half in anticipation.

Great news, I'm mega pleased it actually turned up This has made Christmas 2014 the longest on record, are you going to put it on the mantelpiece all year? Seems reasonable.... (only joking, mind you now you've opened the envelope the glitter will turn up in every corner to remind you) I think there should be a consolation prize for having to wait so long. Here, have this giant Welsh bara brith with the compliments of the two-headed monster

Nah, Uno, you can't do this to me! You know perfectly well that Welsh bara brith is a soft spot of mine. I'm trying to keep fit an all the help I got from you is placing a huge one of those right infront of my face...

You can't possibly get fat just by looking at it. If it makes you rush over to Trevelin and buy one to eat all by yourself in your locked room and not share it at all, that's not MY fault Buttler, on the other hand, might be looking for bigger trousers if he eats all that in one sitting....on the other hand, Italians look fabulous regardless and at all times, so go for it!

Italians have the language on their side. Everything they say sounds dramatic, theatrical, exaggerated, passionate, as if they were in a movie. It's a language designed to conquer women I reckon.
And Uno, I don't even need to rush over to Trevelin (I would like to, by the way... it's a beautiful place, although expensive, and much more fresh than Buenos Aires). For some reason I ignore (because she's not Welsh at all), my granma makes a most exquisite Welsh pudding (is it called "bara brith"?), as good as any Welsh would do it, and she lives like 10 blocks from me. So getting fat is quite at hand.

I wouldn't really call bara brith a pudding. Bara brith is more of a bready, cakey thing with dried fruit in it; you slice it up and have it cold with maybe butter on it. A pudding is heavier, usually you eat it hot with lots of custard or cream. Unfortunately, both will make you fat if you eat too much (or even a bit)and everyone knows that every granma's whole aim in life is to feed you up. So in your case, resistance is useless

Yeah, I've eaten the authentic bara brith many times! And I know it's the authentic because it's exactly like you described it. What happens is that it is one of the very few kinds of cake/puddings or sweet doughs I enjoy. Other than that one, I'm not a huge fan of those sweet things, do I don't really know what the correct definition of pudding is.
And you are right about granmas' aims. It seems everyone around me wants me fat, so I'll have to give up...

No, sassy as in cheeky. Believe it or not, I was slim ever up until 3 or 4 years ago when work ruined me. And now Uno with her bara briths is ending the task.
