The sound quality is not very good and it has some weird edits. All (or most) of the material can be found elsewhere in better quality. That is why this is not very sought after a release.
However, I like the concept and I've been planning do a similar compilation for my own enjoyment.

Much like the Winterland '76 and Wembley '78 live albums from around the same period, Friends And Relatives was a cash grab release using whatever sources the remnants of Jet Records could find at the time. From its low effort artwork to the puzzling tracklist, it only existed to bring more funds the way of David Arden in particular by latching onto the 20th anniversary of Out Of The Blue, which Sony ended up celebrating a year late with an admittedly decent remaster housed in a Digipak case with new liner notes by Rob Caiger. I'd argue that this flood of quantity over quality products helped damage ELO's reputation - the audio used for the Wembley show in particular was something that only perpetuated the myth that the group was a glorified mime act. By the time we finally received a proper restoration of that concert from the recovered multitracks, few outside more hardcore fan circles even cared anymore, and that treatment still hasn't received anything except a release on DVD then later Blu-ray. If you really must seek out these rarities, I'd suggest looking elsewhere...
(Apologies for the somewhat cynical tone of this reply, but the Ardens' milking campaign in the late '90s rubbed me the wrong way.)

Yes when I first saw these CD covers I thought they looked familiar, checked my Winterland and Wembley live CDs but the track lists nothing like these versions. Thanks for the info shardender.
