We've done the album titles and the albums themselves, why not rank the albums by their cover art?
1. A New World Record (the birth of an icon, what else can I say?) 2. ELO/No Answer 3. Face the Music 4. Out of the Blue 5. Time 6. Zoom (2013) 7. Secret Messages 8. Balance of Power (I know its minimalism is much-maligned, but from a design standpoint I love it) 9. Alone In the Universe 10. Eldorado 11. On the Third Day (UK/US cover rank about the same for me) 12. Discovery 13. From Out of Nowhere (lenticular cover contributes ~90% of the coolness) 14. Xanadu 15. ELO II (UK cover would score A LOT higher)

1. Eldorado. This captures a moment in time, wonderfully. It's fits perfectly with the theme of the album. 2. Secret Messages. Cooling towers and factory gates. 3. Zoom. The best representation of the spaceship. Great colour scheme. 4. Time. Immense sci-fi fun! 5. Face The Music. Have a seat and listen! 6. Out Of The Blue. 7. No Answer. Baroque. The cover describes the music perfectly. 8. Discovery. 9. Alone In The Universe. 10. BOP. Trendy. In a very 1986 way. 11. ELO II. Boring. Cold. Dark. 12. A New World Record. See 13 below. 13. From Out Of Nowhere. It doesn't do or say anything. It's like decaf. 14. On The Third Day. What were they thinking? 15. Xanadu. Dead last by far. Bubble gum wrapper.

1. A New World Record – My favourite because it’s simple and striking 2. Alone in the Universe – Could be a classic one day, it’s fun and memorable 3. Xanadu – I like it. I like the colours and the simplicity 4. Discovery – I don’t know why I like it but I do. It’s iconic. 5. Out of the Blue – Iconic, memorable, not the most exciting but the colours pop 6. Balance of Power – For a cover I thought I hated (I realise it’s the 80s-ness that bugs me) I’m surprised to find it so highly placed. For me the colour and simplicity win over the dullness of other ELO covers 7. Eldorado – Another cover I’m surprised to place so high. I don’t believe it’s as good as people say it is but it is still colourful and eye-catching 8. The Electric Light Orchestra – Not a big favourite but gets many points for featuring the Banqueting House 9. Face the Music – I don’t know why I don’t like this – I think it needs more personality on the cover 10. Time – Never been keen on this, given the album contents this could have been more thrilling 11. Secret Messages - I don’t really like it. Maybe it’s too busy. You wouldn’t be able to spot it well from far away 12. ELO II – I don’t like it but it doesn’t offend me 13. Zoom – Could do better 14. On the Third Day - UK version: I wouldn’t even remember it / US version: at least it’s memorable 15. From Out of Nowhere – No. Makes Zoom look like a masterpiece. I like the idea, just the execution feels unsuccessful. It's like a band who wants to be ELO have come up with the cover
