I seem to remember when Mrs Wimp made up some t shirts for a stag weekend away she used a press ironing machine like this, the shirts came out fine.

I did try using a press ironing machine at first, using the temperature and duration suggested from the old instructions sheet, but they just wouldn't adhere, even after pressing multiple times and increasing the duration. I ended up using a regular handheld iron and that actually did seem to work better as the designs are firmly stuck to the shirts now, unfortunately so is the backing paper
I'd hoped that soaking in water would help the paper just disintegrate and fall off, tried it on the better of the two to no avail. I might throw it in the wash to see if the agitation will do the trick but I'm not holding out much hope at this point...

Here I go slightly derailing the thread again After nearly 3 years and 200 albums of collecting vinyl, I've known it was more than high time I upgraded to a proper stereo setup, and I finally decided to do something about it...
Before
After!
The turntable is a Sansui FR-5080S I found on Craigslist, and was the only thing I'd gone out expecting to buy that day... but the seller was exceedingly kind and threw in a vintage 1970s receiver and vintage-ish (refurbished) pair of speakers for an extra $50 - plus tip, as my attempt to repay him for his unbridled generosity.
The parts I ordered from RadioShack finally arrived, so hopefully I'll have a bit of free time to solder the connections for the speaker wire and hook everything up, to be able to get some records spinning this weekend.
So, yeah, a respectable stereo system for $260 and an hour or so of labor, all-in... I don't think I did half bad!

Looks like a great new set up Grroosss and at a bargain price, I would christen it with Concerto for a Rainy Day.

Beautiful turntable, Grroosss . Well done on your new stereo! and I love the cabinet.
Did you figure out your T-shirt kerfuffle?

Did you figure out your T-shirt kerfuffle?
The cabinet came furnished with my apartment so eventually I'll have to give it up, but I'm planning on building one to match the record shelf you can see in the corner
Thankfully there's finally some good news on the T-shirt front, through a combination of soaking, scraping, and patience I was able to get the first two looking good enough to be deemed wearable. One design has a few nicks in it from where I wasn't very careful but is holding up well, the other has started to pull up a bit after a few wears/washes so I might try ironing it again to tack it back down... regardless, I now know that I'll be able to salvage the FTM one even if the process doesn't go smoothly. I was waiting to find a suitable T-shirt for a fourth design I have, before I attempted them both, but seeing as I haven't found one yet, I might just put the other design on hold for a while... so I might have some more news once midterms calm down after the next couple weeks.

Looks great Grroosss, which record will you choose for the first play? My money is on Telephone Line.... It would be an excellent choice
Unfortunately if I want the first play to be sometime in the immediate future, I'll have to pick something that's in mono... I had the speaker wires ready to go this evening only to discover that 1) I had a cold solder joint and even after fixing that, 2) there's something wrong with the connection on my receiver's right channel, it crackles horrendously... I pulled the unit apart to have a peek but my limited knowledge of circuits didn't spot anything obviously amiss, so I'll probably have to take it to a professional somewhere to get it repaired.

Easy to say in hindsight but did you get to hear the set up before you bought it? The receiver sounds at fault here and may be expensive to fix...
