I’m looking forward to the manned SpaceX launch this evening, I’ve missed US manned space missions.
Godspeed to the crew.

Absolutely, Horacewimp, SpaceX and Crew Dragon look the business! I haven't looked forward to a blast-off as much since the first manned flight of the space shuttle in 1981. Yes, Godspeed...

I didn't know the launch was cancelled and spent nearly an hour outside searching the skies for it!

I was at a drive-by bridal shower when they went up. Disappointed to miss this.

the history of inventors trying to launch rockets into space goes back a long way and while this story may belong in the Random category, it's more fun to put it here Baltimore has a quirky neighborhood called Hampden. I've eaten at a few of the restaurants and always wondered about a ramshackle establishment named "Rocket to Venus". Well I learned today that an inventor of sorts and two craftsmen actually built and attempted to launch a rocket from a garage in Hampden - way back in the 1920s. It brings to mind that Wallace and Gromit film where they build in the basement and fly to the moon to sample the cheese. Fast forward to 2020 and the guy who lives in that house is making a documentary about that 1920s "rocket to venus". I always assumed that restaurant owner just chose a silly name. Very surprised to learn there's this whole historical story behind it. Here's the trailer for the documentary film, which has a better chance of completion than the rocket ever did. rockettovenusfilm.com/
