Iain serenaded us with today on Zoom. He went longer than half an hour. The Zoom session didn't cut off at forty minutes, so he played and visited for fifty minutes. So generous.
I can't say enough about what a pleasant, friendly man he is. He talked about the experience of touring with Jeff Lynne's ELO and what an honor he feels it is. He mentioned his work with 10CC and ARW Yes.
I didn't realize he was the vocal arranger for JL's ELO. What a phenomenal job he does. And what a wonderful voice Iain has.
He talked about writing and recording his latest album Fly Away Home, which I played for the first time yesterday. The album was recorded remotely with one of the keyboardists for JL's ELO, Jo Webb. Both Iain and Jo produced the album. I'm very impressed with the sound quality of the CD and the quality of the songs. Both of them are fantastic musicians, but they'd have to be to get into Jeff's band.
With dollars to pounds conversion rate, I paid $134. Less than a good seat at a concert. And we got up close and person time with a top-notch artist who plays with Jeff Lynne. Myself and five friends attended on Zoom.

IH smashed his Online Gig tonight, he apparently is No 1 in the iTunes Singer songwriter charts at the moment.
Managed to do a lovely little cover of WIWAB and an incredibly hard 10CC cover. The album acoustically sounds brilliant.
His voice and range are just amazing.
