Good article, he did gloss over the question pretty quickly. I must admit I have never heard the album so can’t really give an opinion. Liked the single Slipping away have it on a clear vinyl single. But it is interesting how he pushed George to recruit Jeff. It’s great though how Jeff and George became such good friends. Then of course Dhani touring with ELO was a nice touch. Will give a listen to Riff Raff see what I think.

Information, which contained a couple of JL produced songs, was much better than Riff Raff. That's one of those albums that I've just never been able to get into.
When I first heard the title track to Dave's 1990 album Closer To The Flame, I thought for sure Jeff had produced or at least co-written it.

I like Riff Raff a lot. I think that the JL written songs on Riff Raff were just as good or better than the songs that were left off the original Secret Messages set. Search ‘em out and decide for yourself! Without Jeff’s involvement I would never have gotten into some cool Dave Edmunds stuff....

I've mentioned this on another thread, but I'd have liked to have heard what Jeff and Dave would have come up with after our Jeff had fallen back in love with acoustic instruments more than synths. I have Information, Riff Raff and a number of other Dave Edmunds records. I always felt his music was at its best when he was rocking in 1950's or 1960's style, or his work with Nick Lowe in Rockpile. Rattled or Don't Let Go would be the type of songs that would fit the bill. By the way, Rockpile were supposed to be an incredible live band. Really putting it up to the main attraction when they opened the show.
