No I didn’t find a carrot with arms, tie a potato to it as a head with garden twine and then give it eyes with drawing pins. And I certainly didn’t give it a string bow tie and put it in a mug. That would be stupid. Only a person with too much time on their hands would do that.
And I certainly didn’t modify the carrot by reattaching its head with a cocktail stick and use the twine to give it hair. I most definitely never even tried to give the carrot an outfit made from a tissue. That would be ridiculous. What do you think I’d do next? Leave it in the mug and place it on the mantelpiece looking like a creepy magical vegetable doll which looked very spooky after the lights were turned out? What do you take me for?

Of course it's always vinegar first (loads of) and then lashings of salt. I'll fight anyone who disagrees

Masterpiece, queenofthehours! I'm sure it won't be the last piece of veg art you'll be doing, once the bug bites you it must be very hard to stop, so keep us updated on your new works.

my wife likes to cook hearty 1 pot stews when the weather turns colder and the wind is blowing this week that meant some spicy Cajun Gumbo can't feel the chill when your forehead is sweating from the cayenne

Just discovered fried sprouts with gammon and butter. As a Brussels sprouts fan I was dubious about any messing about with the veg but I can confirm that it was delicious. It doesn't taste like normal sprouts but I suppose the dish was invented by people who didn't like them on their own. The best thing about this year was trying new foods (or ways of cooking them).
