Now ELO has reached fifty Will Jeff think of mending the rift he Has kept up with Lou And Mik, Mel and Bev too? Not likely - he thinks they're too shifty.

But Jeff will just say "go to hell" To the old group, 'cept Richard. Their bond has not withered. The rest, dead or alive, doth do smell.

More rumours, 12th July 70 is when the recording session for 10538 Overture apparently started. This anniversary falls on a Sunday, you wouldn’t do a press release on a Sunday so look out on the Monday for details of a 3CD anthology set.

BBC Radio 2 appears to be playing even more ELO tracks than usual for some reason...

I hope it isn’t another 3 disc greatest hits, sorry anthology. What would be the point? Very few people buy physical formats these days, everyone who is interested in the hits has “All Over The World” and the fans just want the rare and new stuff. If this is what the news is going to be, I do wonder who is in charge of the archive and what decade they are living in.

Maybe so, but SE’s comments on SteveHoffman forums indicate a pattern: “Let's put it this way: November 1990 - Afterglow (3CD retrospective with rarities thrown in) November 2000 - Flashback (3CD retrospective with rarities thrown in) November 2020 - #ELO50 (3CD retrospective with... I'm sure you get the picture! .” Some decent rarities would be nice as well as opposed to the likes of A Sad Affair (demo) 1:05. - JL “I wrote this one on a bus” It’s Rainin’ Down (demo) 0:45 - JL “A jolly little number this”

The sad thing is no matter what it is, I will probably still buy it..... But I hope Grroosss is right and it’s something special for the fans.

Jeff has been stuck at home like the rest of us. Seems like he's had enough time on his hands to come up with a brand new song to celebrate 50 years of ELO.
how about "0720 finale" where patient 0720 escapes from the Covid ward only to realize he has actually gone to meet his maker

A Sad Affair (demo) 1:05. - JL “I wrote this one on a bus” It’s Rainin’ Down (demo) 0:45 - JL “A jolly little number this” First of all, Sad Affair isn't a demo - like the other previously unheard track on those Time acetates, it's a fully recorded, mixed and mastered outtake. Also, how about a clue as to what's really out there from this period? News (Here Is The News home demo, December 1980) On And On (Take Me On And On studio demo, April 1981) Sad Affair (Time double album outtake) Time Tra... Ah, that's enough for now. Want to know more? It's just a matter of time before everyone gets to find out!

What I would like on this celebration are contributions from EVERYONE who have made the band what it is, just a few words here and there even if they are from bygone times (yes yes I know there is more chance of pigs flying...)

This is just the best news. Love the elo time era. I really hope any unheard songs will appear as they were created at the time. Jeff has finished some tunes from the past and I cant help thinking of what they may have sounded like originally. Having said that when was the last time we heard an unaltered unreleased song? Would it have been flashback?
