I won't lie...(I am a music nazi) and Bryan Adams doesn't really float my boat...But I am impressed how he got back to you....Loyal to his fanbase! More than can be said for his Dameness! But I am really looking forward to hear what Jeff and him have worked out! Well done!

Great to see he or his people got back to you! Awesome, in fact, given that a few years back, he had an organisation called the WebSheriff delete fan sites on a fairly large scale. Looks like he's come to his senses regarding online interaction with fans. Good for him!
I got into Bryan Adams' music through his trio recording "All For Love" with Rod Stewart and Sting. And through the fact that he's got such a great band. Mickey Curry on drums and Keith Scott on lead guitar. They are amazing musicians. Also, back in the day when I got "The Best Of Joe Cocker" CD because of Jeff Lynne's song "Night Calls", I also found a few songs written by Bryan Adams on there. And these are amongst the best on the album. (RIP Joe - too soon gone but my, what a body of work to listen to!)
"18 Til I Die" and "On A Day Like Today" are my preferred Bryan Adams albums. They have great melodies and great guitar work, not always on the same song, though. "Room Service" is also a very consistent album but the guitars are much more restrained here. I cannot comment much on his 80s albums because I've only gotten as deep into them as the compilation "So Far So Good" does.
I can't wait for his next album of new songs. And having Jeff Lynne as his producer and collaborator is the icing on the cake!

Bryan has stated that his new single due out in the summer is produced and co written by Jeff.

I can't wait to hear what Jeff and Bryan have cooked up. Jeff's outside productions have been pretty strong over the last few years, so I hope this one stands up with the rest of them.

I hope the single is a success. It all probably hinges on Bryan's ability to cut it with today's music-buying kids.

I don't mind much if it's a success. In fact, in first instance I tend to mistrust anything that is a success these days.
I want it to be a good song by my own parameters, even if that means condemning it as a commercially sellable product. Selfish posture, I know, but why care more about others liking the song than about liking it yourself?

I begrudgingly admit that Jeff and Bryan won't have a cat in hell's chance of getting in to the upper reaches of the Top 40 (unless, of course, they tie the song into a charity or a tv show or pull an undignified publicity stunt) . But at least it should get some airplay on BBC Radio 2 - Bry and Jeff have a strong home there. The only thing I wonder is why bother to release a single at all? Bryan must know he can't compete with Ed Sheeran and the Swift woman unless he sings a duet with one of them. Also, most people (not me) buy their music digitally so it isn't as if they are going to run to HMV to buy a 7" piece of coloured vinyl...hang on...what are the chances of this single appearing in physical form?

Top 40 has ceased to mean anything to me nowadays.
