fernandoamado ’s post is a star of “First Time Hearing ELO”
A few reasons why.
But, first this...
“I couldn't tell the difference between this guy with short beard and sunglasses and the guy with afro and medium beard without sunglasses, dressed in white. Of course, they were Jeff in two different years. I use to think Melvyn Gale was a woman”
Golden
..........
“Truly a beautiful lifetime picture”
“Very emotional impact on me, as many ELO songs”
"When I first heard When I Was a Boy, I cried a lot"
“Jeff's the master of masters, he knows how to evoke an emotion with his music” “Thank you, Jeff Lynne, for your music. Everybody in this forum will understand me”

Back in 2011 I think, I was watching some stupid LE FUNNI RANDUMB GMod video, and Mr. Blue Sky was on it, just a little bit. It was just the very beginning and I though "Ugh, this is probably some of these 2000s young pop bands". I decided to look the song up and heard it entirely. Instant love. It took me quite a while to listen to my first ELO album though. It was in 2013. After listening to some random songs on YouTube, I decided to download an album to listen to, and settled on Out of the Blue. Great experience, fell in love with the band. In 2013, I fell in love with a girl I was friends with. She wasn't in love with me though, and I suffered a lot. Throughout this time, Out of the Blue, Eldorado, Face the Music, A New World Record, The Electric Light Orchestra, ELO 2, along with Jethro Tull's Aqualung, Thick As A Brick and Too Old to Rock'n'Roll, Too Young to Die! were my greatest companions. I listened to these albums every day, all day (not every one of them and every track at a time, I listened to them randomly. The ones I heard the most were OOTB and Eldorado. In 2014, the albums that marked the year for me were The Move's Message From the Country, The Idle Race's Birthday Party and Tame Impala's Lonerism. All of them are wonderful albums, magical ones. Then 2015 came, I fell in love with a great friend who was, again, not in love with me. She was in love with a mutual friend of ours, who had been my friend for 5/6 years. They've been together since 2015, and they are my greatest friends. During my lovey timey, I listened to ELO's Discovery, Time and Secret Messages. Great albums, except for Discovery. OH YEAH AND THE GREATEST ALBUM OF 2015 WAS RELEASED, I WAS REALLY HYPED FOR THAT. 10/Fucking 10. Now it's 2016, last year of high school, me and my friends are almost at the end, and I finally listened to Balance of Power. Very good album, I don't care if people look at me strange! I've been listening to some other stuff too, but that's not for this post.
