I also heard that Bev is working on an auto biography, I wonder when it will be published? I messaged Bev on Facebook just over a week ago asking him if he was writing a new book and when it was likely to come out......I’ve not received a reply Lawyers!!!

In terms of the paid employees stuff, I'd be surprised if Jeff had much of a say. Don Arden called the shots and probably took a fair slice himself. I'm sure there's a tale of Jeff not having enough money to fix his van to get to a gig.... In 1982!!! Don Arden took an Unfair slice or much more than he should have. He stole millions from the band and Jeff.

In response to a recent comment, here's an old quote by Kelly that should help explain how much he received and where this was coming from:
By contrast, Richard annually made double this figure (likely as a retainer of sorts on Jeff's part) and brought in the most of any member who wasn't a legal co-founder of ELO, which may explain why he ended up relocating to Los Angeles as a tax exile for a while in the early '80s. On top of this, it should be noted that Jeff, Bev, Richard and Kelly all had their own sponsorship deals at one point or another - at the very least, I know Richard was a brand ambassador for Yamaha around 1978 because he was presented with a CS-80 to use on later shows during that year's tour, which served as his main keyboard all the way up to mid-1981, when Jeff bought him one of three Oberheim OB-Xa synthesisers, keeping one for himself and offering the last to Dave Morgan as a welcoming gift.

i loved them but this 'magnificent 7'. title..how many albums did that set of players appear on 2?... the string players weren't part of the recording process as a unit after a new world record were they?

What? Are you a lawyer that you are running after me? Nope. Just the humble half of the two-headed monster.

Out Of The Blue is the last album to have any real notable contributions from the string players, with Mik playing an audible solo on Across The Border, while it was Mel who supposedly tackled the most prominent piano parts of Wild West Hero. After that, you have Mik's heavily processed violin solo during Rock 'N' Roll Is King, then that appears to be the end of ELO as a recording group outside the core members still working together.

He stole millions from the band and Jeff. Craig Fruin spent most of the first half of the 1980s trying to reclaim $4m that had been swindled from ELO's leader, earning himself a promotion to Jeff's personal manager that is a role he continues to hold even now. However, it's not entirely fair to point the finger directly at Don Arden - some of the alleged fraud came from one of his colleagues, who ended up exploiting a loophole and pocketing the profits after Jet Records switched its distributor from UA to CBS.

Swedish Rock'n'Roll Magazine has a big interview with Jeff in the latest issue. Most newsworthy; Jeff comments on why there are no reconciliation plans with Bev: "No. I didn't appreciate someone going around pretending to be my group, Bev tried to steal the group and the name, but ELO has been my group since day one." So! One of our hopes for this 2020 is gone... Man, this is so sad and makes me angry, what's going on!!! What would happen if was Roy Wood and not Bev who made a new era of the band after 1986?? Would Lynne say the same thing? It's like the Hodgson-Davies stuff in Supertramp but here with the ELO. I can't believe there's people on their 70s that can't see they won't win anything following this way!! And that there's fans who are waiting maybe not for a reunion, but only for a short moment of them together... God, the pride of some people is incredible...
(Sorry but I can't hide my feelings!)
