Swedish Rock'n'Roll Magazine has a big interview with Jeff in the latest issue. Most newsworthy; Jeff comments on why there are no reconciliation plans with Bev: "No. I didn't appreciate someone going around pretending to be my group, Bev tried to steal the group and the name, but ELO has been my group since day one." But,in a nutshell...it wasnt Jeff's from 'Day one', it was Jeffs,Roys AND Bevs.... I think Jeff honestly believes he was the head honcho from day one. Numero uno. But the reporter actually follows up Jeff's statement by adding: "Or rather since ELO2?" "Well you got me there", says Jeff. (Meaning of course, that when Roy left, Jeff definitely was in charge.)

Wasn't it a 3 way thing from day one, ie 1970?

It's true that Bev sold his 'rights' to the name back in the late 80s so to me that means up until then Bev was one third owner of the ELO name.

Jeff needs to check back in the history books, he wasn’t interested in the band after 1986, Bev wanted to carry on and from what we have heard Jeff was in agreement with the ELO Pt2 name. Now his pension has run out or needs topping up it seems he is trying to rewrite history in his favour and is happy again to use the ELO brand.

Jeff had told Bev that it was okay for him to start the group and then Jeff turned around around and did Bev wrong ; Jeff is a 2 face

Jeff could go to his grave friends with only one of the 7 that made him a global icon and megastar. Two have already passed so Jeff needs to evaluate his position in all of this before this happens. Jeff and Bev don't need to be best buddies but just to acknowledge that without each other they wouldn't be where they are today. Bev has tried to make contact so why can't Jeff remove that chip from his shoulder?

Jeff could go to his grave friends with only one of the 7 that made him a global icon and megastar. While I agree with much of what has been said before (basically, that Jeff behaves like a dick about this and that conveniently wants to change the past), I disagree with what you say here, Timeblue. I don't think they made him a global icon and megastar. I think Jeff made himself a global icon and he would have made it with other guys all the same while, on the contrary, it's the other guys who were famous thanks to Jeff. The quid of the issue is that the ability to write those brilliant songs was Jeff's. No one would have made it without those songs... except Jeff. There must have been a million drummers, bassist, keyboardists, etc... with whom he could have gotten together, but I doubt that, say, Hugh McDowell would have been able to get himself another genius songwriter to take him to the top of the music world. Jeff, on the opposite, would have made it all the same, with these guys or with others. janne: is there a way of reading that inteview?

What is it going to take for Jeff and Bev to sort out this mess...? Nothing. It will never happen. We knew that already anyway.

What a ridiculous thing to say. If Bev hadn't "stolen" the group, ELO's music wouldn't have continued through the late 80s and 90s.
It really seems like Jeff is upset that ELO Part 2 was actually successful in it's time and the Orchestra still is. He probably figured ELO Part 2 would've failed without him, only stroking his ego, but, to his dismay, the band turned out to be successful. Also probably didn't help his ego either that when he revived ELO with Zoom, it flopped.

Jeff's comeback has been a huge success and it was due to good timing. The music was kept alive, no matter what ELO part 2/The Orchestra did.
