Who are those forum members that, whenever you look at which users were connected during the last 24 hours, are always there yet never make a comment nor anything that lets you know there's a human being behind that nickname? Couldn't they be bots? Or are they just guys that like to read things others post on the forum but don't enjoy participating (kind of forum voyeurs)? Ellaborate your theory next...

The bots don't register for the forum they just appear when people post and analyse the information for their masters at Google All the members are verified to prevent spammers this is a quick check on the email address provided and the IP address they use to register against a database, therefore I am 99% certain all the members are human. Some members don't post much or at all but do participate in the polls and so maybe register just to vote in them, I guess some members want to be a registered part of the forum but for what ever reason remain silent and don't post. That's fine maybe one day a topic will come up which they feel strongly enough about and will post their opinion The ones I don't understand are the people who register are accepted but never log in to the forum again, I don't see the point I have kept all the forum open to none members so nothing is off limits for them to view, perhaps some people think by joining they will have access to additional areas of the forum?

Thanks or the answer, Horace! Yes, of course everything is fine, I didn't want to sound like I was questioning users for not participating or how they like to be on the forum, I was curious about seeing those names always there but never saying anything. In any case, I would love to know what, for example, camicohen has to say about ELO or whatever related matter. I bet at this point she knows more about those issues than all of us together. I'm sure at one point we will create such an interesting thread that they won't be able to resiste the temptation of participating.
As for bots, they may not register to the forum, but someone could register them and then program them to enter for example once a day. Bots are created by humans at the end of the day, so why couldn't humans register them too? But yes, I don't think they are bots anyway.
And hey, you didn't leave me fantasize much! I love to think that our activities are being followed by some kind of extraterrestrial form of life which can, following some steps, get into our computers from outer space and get to know about us so as to prepare their invasion properly, but you killed all of my aliens with a merciless stroke of cold rational arguments!

I actually think most of the phantoms are ex ELO members, Jeff and Rosie Vela

That's so much better than the aliens! ... even if the aliens were deceptively attractive and voluptuous Martians who had been observing human activities all along? What if many of them were dirty and into interspecies... polite... jogging? It's common for message forums to be "populated" by phantom users who (like you observe) register but never post, or make only a few posts before vanishing. It's a good thing that it's early in the afternoon and light out... otherwise, I'd be looking over my shoulder and blaming you for a paranoia involving phantoms.

What if many of them were dirty and into interspecies... polite... jogging? Uhhhmmm... well, no, in that case no... in that case let's hope they are reading these messages right now through those phantom users and that they understand that they have some potential... how was it?... jogging partners here. It's common for message forums to be "populated" by phantom users who (like you observe) register but never post, or make only a few posts before vanishing. It's a good thing that it's early in the afternoon and light out... otherwise, I'd be looking over my shoulder and blaming you for a paranoia involving phantoms. Ha, don't worry. As everyone knows, phantoms only come out in the dark, and only on days in which you have mentioned them earlier either orally or in written. And even like that, not all of them come for your soul... some are just playing to scare the hell out of mortals but aren't intending to harm them. Just ask these guys; they weren't harmed or anything:

Yes he most definitely does. But we don't know what he gets up to when he goes visiting his celebrity mates - I'm sure when he does it's very much as jefflynnenut suggests.
