I saw that too, and was reminded again of what a brilliant voice she had when they showed the old clips. Bet she'd be pleased to see Per with a new version of the band; the new song sounds very much in the original style

I'd rather not touch the name "Roxette". If it were a 4 or 5 member band and one is missing, it's alright to carry on with the name of the band, but Roxette were (sold as) a duo, and Marie was probably the most visible face of it (I'd say she was in charge of +- 60% or 65% of the vocals).
Besides, Per Gessle has enough of a name by himself to keep attracting a die-hard nucleus of fans, at least in most of Europe and in South America, which is where Roxette traditionally toured the most. He could simply play Roxette's songs with the female vocalist she has now and leave the name "Roxette" alone. They say he's the richest musician in Sweden so it's not like he's going to fall short anyway.

I'd not thought of it that way - maybe he wants to bring in younger fans who might look back into the old catalogue?
It's kind of the same with Jeff, why call his current band Jeff Lynne's ELO when he is now the only founder member? If he just went out under his own name the old fans would certainly know what to expect but more casual listeners wouldn't make the connection.

When I saw the new name 'PG Roxette' I thought it was an adults only version of the band.....
