"If you burn them onto a CD with iTunes, it allows you to choose no breaks between the songs"
Yeah but it still seems to leave a digital "click" between the tracks that normally flow smoothly into each other on vinyl, which I find is SO annoying ! Does anyone know of another program to try ?
As said on the last page, it spoils Eldorado. Concerto For A Rainy Day, Time and Secret Messages albums.

All the official ELO CDs I’ve got have gapless playback, with a compatible CD player they are seamless just like listening to the album. Most players will list gapless playback in their specifications if it is a feature. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gapless_playbackThis is the player I’ve got but in black, if you look under the specs it says “yes” under gapless playback. www.richersounds.com/hi-fi/cd-players/onkyo-c7030-sil.html

I meant/mean does anyone know of a program to rip from a complete (ELO) CD to a MP3 file(s) on a Windows PC so that when the MP3 album is played, via say VLC Media Player, or on a phone/mp3 player, it plays without a digital click between the normally joined/smooth flowing tracks ?

"On another note, what is everyone’s favorite Time moment? Not song, but moment on the album?"
1. The opening three tracks in sequence without a break. 2. The emotional lead guitar solo on 21st Century Man, and the similarly mournful guitar lead on Epilogue. 3. The (almost unheard) rhythm guitar on v2 and v4 of Yours Truly 2095. 4. The multi-layered 'broadcasts' in Here Is The News. 5. The lack of significant breaks between each track. Virtually continuous music - absolute class.

On another note, what is everyone’s favorite Time moment? Not song, but moment on the album? Isn't this what the title of the thread invited us to debate? Lately I've been listening to "Time" a lot in the car. A moment I hadn't paid much attention to but now stood out for me is the outro of "Ticket to the moon". That piece of music is sublime.

As finberty says, the 'virtually continuous music' makes the album complete, and not a random collection of songs. For me, and I know that this'll sound daft, the sudden ending is what I look forward to. Almost as if we've lost contact with the time traveler.

Favorite moments eh? That's a tough one considering the whole album is unbelievably solid. But if I had to, I'd say.
The chord pattern of Prologue/21st Century Man/Epilogue The "Is that what you want?" bridge on Yours Truly, 2095 When the strings come in on Ticket to the Moon The synthesizer motif on Rain is Falling The pre-chorus on The Lights Go Down The refrain on 21st Century Man/Epilogue

My vinyl Time album is up in the loft but the cd version does say Electric Light Orchestra. That must be the remastered one. The Time CD I bought in the 80s only says "ELO."
I have the same copy!! My "own present" of the past Christmas -on the last one, I bought Face The Music-. Ahhhh those 80s...great sound of the first CDs, but nothing about booklets or pictures inside. Anyway, I know I have a relic!! I've been listening it on the last days...I'm collecting more great moments of this wonderful album! It's climbing on my ranking, no doubt!
Happy New Year everybody!!!!!

My favourite bit of the whole album is "I'd like to say hello to everbody" in Here is the News . Sounds suspiciously like Macca. Is it?

Anyone know if you can buy the album digitally in FLAC w/ the bonus tracks? I know someone who wants the version with bonus tracks but doesn’t have a CD player. How can I get this?

Happy New Year everybody!!!!! moon: talking about "Time" and Argentina (you seem to have been able to get the album in those times, no pun intended), why do you think "Discovery" had such a big impact down here (and pretty much in the rest of South America) while the following album -or it's predecessor ANWR, or any other ELO album for that matter- had so little repercussion here? It's something I cannot understand. If you talk to people about ELO, besides the immediate and obvious reference to "Last Train to London", all the other songs they will mention to you will be the ones included in Discovery. Hardly anyone knows, for example, ELO's worlwide biggest hit "Mr Blue Sky", or any other song from any other album, including "Time". What do you think is the explanation for this?

Speaking of YT2095, are the pinball sounds generic or do they come from a particular pinball machine? if so, I'd love to play that pinball... I could have sworn some of those sounds were from the old Phoenix arcade game.

I have one of those arcade coffee tables so I guess I'll have to play the game in order to find out (purely for investigative purposes of course... )

I have one of those arcade coffee tables so I guess I'll have to play the game in order to find out (purely for investigative purposes of course... ) I might be thinking of another arcade game. But I distinctly remember when Time came out in 1981. Me and my friends were crazy for arcade games and played Phoenix, Space Invader, Defender, Missile Command etc. as often as we could. So when the album came out, I instinctively reacted - much like Pavlov's dog - when Yours Truly 2095 came on, and I heard the sounds.
