Ah, Kiss The Monster is a great album. I often listen to it on the bus to work in the mornings (well, I used to, until lockdown).
Picture me singing along merrily to lyrics like: "Blood is on my hands..." (from the track Come Clean). And then picture the faces of the other passengers.

this is from Parthenon's most recent album he claims he set out to write a country song, but didn't know how - and this was the result the lyric "at least I've been listening to the radio, a Badfinger song kind of touched my soul" sounds like Jeff talking about how he got hooked on music or a lot of us who grew up listening to a favorite radio station where on a bad day, we still had our favorite DJ and our favorite band

as the Pandemic drags on and on in the US, Hux is going stir crazy he's even invented an imaginary band member named Bug Eye Bob to play with (reminds me of Tom Hanks talking to Wilson the volleyball in "Castaway") and he's on episode 4 of his Pandemic House-Guy tour to nowhere nice version of "Double Our Numbers" in this one
12 minutes of pleasant diversion if Covid has got you locked down

Parthenon was interviewed by the Snarky Sisterz, which made for an entertaining hour+. He plays a few songs and answers questions from fans. Takes a few minutes for the interview to hit its stride, but very entertaining if you stick with it. The "sisterz" are holed up in a cabin in Maine during an early cold snap. Which may explain their odd wardrobe, or ... maybe they dress that way everyday. IDK

He has so many underrated gems! I especially love his "Kiss The Monster" and "Thank You Bethesda" albums. This one is a favorite of mine.

Google always knows when I could use a lift from Parthenon. this little promo piece for his Kiss the Monster album (highly recommended by vlogdance ) is embedded with a nice 3 pack of Hux songs the middle song, My Friend Hates Me, is a quirky favorite the song lyrics are like a stream of consciousness about an everyday human anxiety yet I can't think of another pop song that has covered that ground cyberpr.biz/clients/2364

here's a surprising one from Hux I found it on an XTC tribute album with covers by an all star cast of artists from the mid '90s (Joe Jackson, Sarah McLachlan, Crash Test Dummies, ... and P Hux).
Parthenon and Thomas Walsh are both big fans of XTC and ELO. The styles of the 2 bands are quite different, but I like both as well. Trying to put my finger on what it is that the bands have in common other than general songwriting excellence.

Hux got a mention on a power pop music blog for his song "Perfect" from Kiss the Monster. the writer listed a bunch of upbeat songs with the word Perfect in the title - hoping to make his 2021 a brighter happier place, if not exactly "perfect". there's a little globe at the top of the article that made me think of another Huxley lyric: "spin for night and day, tilt for hot or cold" all of the "perfect" are embedded in the article so you can give them a listen poprockrecord.com//?s=P.+Hux&search=Go

here's one where Hux is credited as co-producer and co-writer with Mark Everett (a man called E)

this was before the EELS, I believe. I got this album during the time the EELS were kicking off I'm glad Mark Everett changed direction, didn't enjoy this record

this one is Mrs Orioles favorite Hux song a gentle upbeat ballad - and very appropriate for this time of year
"count your blessings, one by one by one and look to the light of the morning sun every season turn the soil plant your seeds and watch 'em grow"

from Mile High Fan - Bazooka Joe
for those not familiar, Bazooka Joe is/was a comic strip and the gum company included a little comic in each piece of Bazooka Joe bubble gum
anyway, Hux says he opened his gum wrapper one day and instead of the usual lame pun, he got the opening line for this song
"Bazooka Joe says angels guide my every move and I believe him, Pesty knows that Joe don't lie he calls the shots the way he sees them
so to this my life has come there's meaning in a piece of gum the world - works - in - mysterious - ways
stuff in God's earth, stuff in good books send me secret clues angels make the lights on my street blink with nightly news we find convenient truth in whatever we choose
nothing further from the truth would make me less a psychic sleuth the world - works - in - mysterious - ways
if that's too deep, ponder the photo Gordon from The Orchestra was Hux's drummer back in the '90s did the dude ever have any hair?
