By the time Xanadu came out, i was a well known pain-in-the-ass gigantic ELO fan. I would call Jett records for album and tour updates, and constantly call radio stations requesting ELO. So when it came time for a Xanadu, the disc jockeys at KRBE in Houston asked how many tickets I needed. I got 20 tickets for a total of 40 guests and we all went August 21, 1980 to a special screening of the movie. I still have a couple of the tix. but with this quick reply - i dont see how to add photos. You can only add 2-3 photos per post. click on "Add Attachment" and upload the photo, then click on "insert." They can't be over a certain size.

You can’t add attachments on quick reply, click the blue top right button “reply” for the full reply box including the attachment button. An alternative way is to host the pictures and link to them, further details on doing that are here jefflynneselo.proboards.com/thread/1416/picture-attachments-file-storage-space

As an addendum to all this, there is, apparently a very rare early version of the album which only printed about 30 copies, before ONJ decided she didnt like the photo of herself on the cover and it was redesigned. If you have one it's worth around $10,000.

Universal Pictures posted this on YouTube, December 20, 2020, while Xanadu was still in its 40th Anniversary year, complete with Drum Dreams! Xanadu | Olivia Newton-John & Gene Kelly's '80s/'40s Hybrid E.L.O. Roller Disco

After pestering connections with ELO and Super Rock station 104 KRBE in Houston, I was lucky enough to get to invite 40 of my closest friends to Xanadu in 1980. It was a party All Over The World.

There is a possibility we will get an expanded Xanadu album, I’ve heard it is been worked upon. This is separate to any 50th anniversary releases and part of an ONJ project.

Run through a filter to remove the vocals.

What a great song it is. Just pop magic...the strings add so much. They are a 'hook' in themselves, if that makes sense. I never tire of hearing the ONJ/ELO version. The newer version...I can live without. Thanks for sharing.

Never saw it in the theatre. I will admit that I liked it that summer, and still like All Over the World as the best single, but really the soundtrack did major damage to the band's rep on American rock and AOR radio - which is where ELO sold its records and the formats that made Jeff and Bev rich.
