There can't be many shops left in which you haven't 'rearranged' the goods!?

There can't be many shops left in which you haven't 'rearranged' the goods!? Well, not Selfridges, obviously. Although... wait...

The Queen's Birthday Honours list is out today - congratulations to Rick Wakeman CBE. And to Lulu, who's received the same honour.

Arthur Beale, the yacht chandler on Shaftesbury Avenue, is closing this month after 500 years.
They've supplied theatrical rigging to the Royal Opera House, ice axes to Ernest Shackleton, flagpoles to Buckingham Palace and rope for use on Everest and in the Antarctic. They've survived war, plague and recession but now have to close.
I love this shop, I've never been inside as I've always visited before it opens in the morning. It is my favourite shop in London and it was always a joy to see it among the other boring, samey shops. It's a real shame it has to close. It always has a beautiful window display of all things nautical and is like a visual Shipping Forecast.
