And ask him what he thinks of gerbils. And did he ever have a goat in the spaceship.
And - seriously - please remember to ask after Richard.

Unbelievable!!! There's lucky people, there's very lucky people and then there's you, Grroosss ! And you are the best sister in the world for having chosen nobodyschild to go with you (which of course doesn't mean you two should stop fighting from time to time on the forum). Chuffed you girls are going to live the dream, have you already thought about questions and topics to chat with him? I bet you must already be anxious...

It would help Horacewimp no end if you could ask Jeff for a few tips on tiling bathrooms...

OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH-- You won't believe it... heck, I don't even believe it-- Provided they'll make an exception for nobodyschild being under 18 as my guest... CHICAGO, HERE I COME!!!!! @grroosss - what are the odds? only one entry and no donation to multiply your odds. A well deserving individual overcoming overwhelming odds to win a fitting outcome. Your win makes me think of the improbability drive for the spaceship in A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe (if you haven't read it - I highly recommend it, start with book 1 and you'll want to read all 4). But to save you reading 4 books - here's how the improbability drive on the Heart of Gold works: << The Infinite Improbability Drive was a wonderful new method of crossing interstellar distances in a mere nothingth of a second, without "tedious mucking about in hyperspace." It was discovered by lucky chance and then developed into a governable form of propulsion by the Galactic Government's research centre on Damogran. As soon as the drive reaches infinite Improbability, it passes through every conceivable point in every conceivable universe simultaneously. An incredible range of highly improbable things can happen due to these effects. It was installed on the Starship Heart of Gold, and both the ship and the drive were unveiled by then-President of the Galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox. >> hitchhikers.fandom.com/wiki/Infinite_Improbability_Drive

Thank you all for the congratulations! I’m well and truly chuffed to bits. I know I would’ve been just as excited if someone else won, since it always seems like you haven’t got any chance at winning sweepstakes and having anyone from the forum win would’ve been a momentous occasion. Unbelievable!!! There's lucky people, there's very lucky people and then there's you, Grroosss ! Chuffed you girls are going to live the dream, have you already thought about questions and topics to chat with him? I bet you must already be anxious... Don’t worry, we’ll probably be fighting over who Jeff liked more as soon as we get back We’ve done a little thinking on what to ask him, see if he’ll tell us anything about the new album, get the truth about “chicane” from the man himself... it still seems unreal at this point, and we’re definitely both anxious, excited wrecks! @grroosss - what are the odds? only one entry and no donation to multiply your odds. I did my homework reading all the fine print and learned that each free entry had a x200 multiplier (equivalent to a $20 donation), and that the cap on entries per person was some absurdly huge number, so I entered a handful of times—but I still figured the odds of me winning were approximately three thousand, seven hundred and twenty to one! I guess I get to say: “Never tell me the odds!”

Grroosss : one question I'd ask him is how he writes his songs, if he starts from a melody and then figures out the chords or if he strums chords on the guitar (or piano) until a melody comes out. But then I'm not sure how he'd take it, maybe for him it feels like he's being asked to reveal the secret of his wizardry and I'd probably ruin the whole meet n' greet.

I believe he starts messing around with chords.

Are you both practicing a killer curtsy? Remember Jeff's title - Highness Lord Dame Jeff Genius Lynne

Here's my advice: Curtsy exaggeratedly and then say something stereo typically British in a really thick put-on British accent. Jeff probably loves stuff like that!!

I think somewhere in Bev’s book he mentions this, the melody comes first and lyrics fit in later, that’s how you end up with “filler lyrics” like the extra “grroosss” beat in DBMD or just lyrics that don’t really mean anything like in Strange Magic. Remembered reading something about it with how he was writing OOTB in that shack in Switzerland. But I could be wrong so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
