Ok, we have 32 soft rock classics ready to rip each other to soft shreds in order to obtain the title of Soft Rock supremacy!
Our first round pits the blue-eyed soul sounds of Hall & Oates against the Chicago song featuring a flute solo!

Oh, off to a good start.
My choice was easy though. Sara Smile. One of my all time faves. Daryl Hall's singing is perfection. He conveys a really subtle, sweet emotion that always makes me a little weepy when I hear it.
Now if the other choice had been Stronger Every Day I would have had a real dilemma.

You all know that there was not even a second of reflection here for me! I really like Chicago, but I love the overwhelming majority of H&O's music, and this is one of the best IMO. Daryl sings, I swoon - pretty predictable!

I’m a flute player, and I love Chicago, so I may have been a bit biased. A close one though.

Always loved Sara Smile. Melodic and soulful.
