As a non-drinker, I shan't be contributing to this thread. Oh, I have, haven't I?

Most of the a Belgium beer is really good especially the stuff brewed in Monasteries. Leffe is a favourite of mine best drunk sitting in the market square of Bruges. The last time I went to Bruges I visited the beer museum that was interesting especially the sample bar at the end. www.mybeerexperience.com/en

I have declared myself a fan of the Irish red ale in general, although of course how good it is varies a bit according to the brewery. It would be pointless to talk about brands here because Argentina is a whole different world compared to Europe.

I took a brewery tour last year and they gave us sample of the ingredients. The malted barley tasted very similar to Grape Nuts cereal - don't know if that brand exists outside of North America, but I like to use it as a crunchy topping on other breakfast cereal. Now when I have it, I'm tempted to pour a beer over the cereal

ive recently become a big fan of brew dog punk ipa, if youre having a courry or any spicy hot food, get a couple of bottles in the fridge and serve them ice cold with your food, it is utterly delicious.

I'm going to whisper this, but if you can't drink proper beer you can do a lot worse than Adnams Ghost Ship 0.5%, as long as you don't drink it after proper beer it's pretty convincing, it has a cool label and is only £1.99 at Wetherspoons (£1.30 at Tescos)

Ha! Where did you guys get that, Horacewimp ? Quilmes has been forever and by much the best selling beer in Argentina. It's huge popularity is due to the fact that it's sold everywhere and it's really cheap. It's like the default beer. With the arrival of European more pretentious lagers first (like Stella Artois or Amstel), and of craft ales later on, it became kind of trendy among the sub-40 generation to say that Quilmes was horrible, unbearable, that it gave you headeache, etc... If you didn't say that, you knew nothing about beer. However, for me it always remained drinkable as it always was and, while not being anything exquisite, if you ask me I say it tastes the same as 90% of the Pilsener lagers which are sold in supermarkets. Happy birthday to daughter N° 2 by the way. She was kind enough to overcome her shyness and come and talk to me when I was at your place and then join us for dinner even when she had no idea whom I was, so send my good wishes to her. Hope she enjoyed her Argie beer.
