Vinyl is listed on Amazon U.K. but no release date just says 1st Nov for what I assume is the single?

Presales on the official Jeff Lynne's ELO website... now I understand why they waited so long to mention the new album there--because now that is THE ONLY THING that is on the website!

For anyone who listens to the "Jeff Lynne's Favorite ELO Songs" playlist on Spotify... the single has just been added there too.

OMG. Perfection! It sounds like a great song that was left off Secret Messages!

From Out Of Nowhere is the new album from Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and music legend Jeff Lynne, and follows up a remarkable run of sold out European and American tours. Jeff Lynne's ELO, whose music has touched fans deeply across three generations now, has found himself in recent years at the peak of his powers as a songwriter, musician and producer. This new collection features a buoyant title song which opens the ten-track record including the wistful "Help Yourself" to the celebratory "Down Came the Rain" to the churning rocker "One More Time" to the sweet closer, "Songbird." As does its predecessor, 2015's Alone in the Universe, From Out Of Nowhere shows Lynne finding new facets to his signature sound, at once drawing on his globally loved legacy and forging new paths in both sounds and emotions. Once again, he plays nearly every note of the music on guitars, bass, piano, drums, keyboards and vibes, as well as singing all of the lead and layered harmony vocals. Steve Jay, who also engineered the album, adds some percussion.

Great song that gets you hooked straight away, classic ELO structure and harmonies and I think it will get a lot of airplay on R2 in the UK.

What a wonderful new song!
But really, that is a truly dreadful album cover. How long can they keep trotting out a tired looking spaceship and this time, without any other background? AITU was a poor cover - this is worse.
Fortunately, I have no doubt that the music within will be everything I've hoped for.

What a lovely song! I happened to wake up from my sleep and then thought, “wait...what time is it? Oh boy, 3:00am!” 😆
November 1st is so soon, too! Hopefully they won’t go and drip feed half the album like they did for AITU. I’ll let myself listen to one more single that they may release before the full album, but no more than that.
Side note: This is perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I really liked AITU’s album artwork. This, on the other hand? Kinda lazy...at least the music sounds promising!

Artwork...
Well, yes, the spaceship theme is a bit familiar. The original Wurlitzer logo was used in different ways from 1976 onwards - my favourite being Discovery. At least, on FOON, it's had a facelift

HELL YEAH! Lovely song, as usual Jeff Lynne shows that he can write a tune. Even after the first play you end up those three minutes already remembering the lyrics and singing the chorus. I will be eagerly expecting the rest of Out of the B... I mean, From Out of Nowhere!
I don't think that will be the cover (and I must say that the cover from AITU was one of the best in my opinion). And, just to be a little bit critical, Jeff still doesn't know what to do with drums. But that's it, it doesn't interfere with the sound and the lovely harmonies. What a good song, I wasn't expecting such a nice surprise when I woke up!

Something else I wanted to point out. When I listened to the song, I immediatly thought of Armchair Theatre. But also of Get Up by Byran Adams.

Even with all the information that had been kindly passed my way over the last few months, that chorus really did hit me From Out Of Nowhere, though I'm less impressed by the album cover (to be fair, I loved the concept - if not the execution - of the artwork for Alone In The Universe). Also, despite my initial reservations about something described as a midway point between Armchair Theatre and Secret Messages, I'm now filled with optimism for a return to that sound.
Did I mention the chorus yet? Beautiful!
