I'm more nervous about the quality than the timing. If I dare say it, AITU was a little disappointing. It sold well, though. It seems like Jeff has taken more time working on this new one (hard to know for sure, given that he's been touring a lot).
anyway, my fingers are crossed hoping for some really good songs whether they have a new sound or a throwback sound - I hope Jeff throws caution to the wind and goes for something more interesting than AITU
not too worked up about when it finally comes out they did say "for sure, before the end of the year" so in time to put under the Christmas tree
Yeah, my biggest hope for the new album is that it is more.....expansive. AITU was good, short and concise. Jeff almost seems OCD about conciseness since BOP. Come on Man....put some meat and all of the extra toppings onto it.
I agree it’s a bit odd that there’s no publicity on the new album yet, but I’m not sweating it—I’m sure it’s coming, Jeff himself did tell us that he’s got a new album coming out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I didn’t even know ELO existed back in 2015 when AITU was released, but got the impression that there was not a lot of hype before its release either. As I said I wasn’t in the loop back then so I could be completely wrong.
I just caught that cryptic post on Jeff's official Facebook page, I'm assuming it's a hint at the new album announcement? I am very excited for this album, as it will be the first one I have been aware of at the time of release. I started following more closely around 2017 (after the 2018 tour was announced), so I missed the excitement over AITU.

Horacewimp: We are all good thanks, just wishing I could go on a foreign holiday, it’s just not worth the risk with Covid and the possibility of a 14 day quarantine, we may do some short breaks in the U.K.
