The end of one forum is the beginning of something else.
Good luck with this HW.

Thank you Wiburysteve and thanks to ELO Espana for the mention in their news section. Just to let you know: the announcement that contains the link to the forum says: " Un nuevo sitio donde encontrarnos con muchos más fans de ELO/JEFF, aunque es cierto que este tipo de lugares de encuentro estén desfasados desde que Facebook abrió sus puertas", which means " a new site where we can find lots of ELO/JEFF fans, although it is true that these places of encounter are behind the times since Facebook opened it's doors". Was all that followed the coma really necessary when trying to promote a site?

The real forums are much better than the Facebook pages for fans. Discussions on Facebook are superficial in general...

The real forums are much better than the Facebook pages for fans. Discussions on Facebook are superficial in general... There aren't even discussions. Each one postes his own opinion and no one cares about the others' opinions, so there's no feedback. It's a deafs' conversation.

I will admit, I use Facebook and Twitter far more than I ever used message forums, but I still believe places like this fulfill a purpose.

The real forums are much better than the Facebook pages for fans. Discussions on Facebook are superficial in general... It seems that people's views of old message boards versus newer social media sites can be boiled down to trends and traffic in many cases.
There are many music and music act themed message boards that are still heavily used as of 2014. It's just so happens that we are all fans of an act that has comparatively few die-hard fans, unfortunately... 'maybe that's always been the case with ELO.

To be honest, I'm still a freakin' caveman when it comes to many commonly used modern marvels... so the creation of another forum was met with a sigh of relief on this end.

The real forums are much better than the Facebook pages for fans. Discussions on Facebook are superficial in general... I can't see why the existence of other types of website automatically means the end for forums. One day Facebook will be "out of date" too. The way I see it, the whole world is putting all their eggs into one Facebook-shaped basket.
As a comparison, forums are the handwritten letters to Facebook and Twitter's typed emails.

I remember Myspace... A lot of artists created a Myspace page. But they hadn't got a website, until 2008... Maybe it will be the same with Facebook.
