You might say that now, but when it's September and you're all trained up it could be a different story...

dillwyn Best of luck with your training and running! I admire people who are runners, but not enough to emulate them. My youngest sister-in-law is a runner in her late 40s and she has participated in numerous marathons and half-marathons, and travels quite a distance sometimes to do them, too! Me, I'm fine walking all day long for days on end, without any problem or complaint if the weather is decent. I walk pretty fast for exercise, too. No problem. Just a run around the block feels very daunting, though!

Come on, dillwyn, don't sell yourself short. Your athletic side is back, why not let the clothing accompany it? You've got 9 months to train, that should be more than enough time to get yourself fit, as long as you find time in your daily life to train. Good luck with that!

I've pondered this and although I don't do resolutions I've decided that although it's too late to lose my permanent frown lines (from being generally grumpy) I'm going to try to maintain a mysterious half smile instead of my usual scowl. Every little helps in this miserable world. Plus everyone who knows me will wonder what's caused it unomusette - apparently if you combine a mysterious half smile with a tray full of Fiji water bottles, you'll become an internet star! well, that and standing behind every well known celebrity in case you have no idea what I'm talking about, the Golden Globe awards must have been very boring last night for this to be the lead story www.cnn.com/2019/01/07/entertainment/fiji-water-golden-globe-scli-intl/index.html

Heh! You have to applaud such brazen product placement, good on her for getting away with it

Wonder if, on top of the salary, she was paid for every photo?

i'll be easy to spot, i'll be old terrible mess regretting his decision at the back of the race We actually went and watched it this year, i'd never seen an elite runner before close up ... they are like thoroughbred horses, incredible people. Then came 2 hours of increasingly more challenged runners until those at the back were walking it... i expect i'll be at the back crawling

You'll have the whole crowd cheering for you.

Try to create for myself as many enjoyable moment as possible, indulge myself whenever I can, do as few unpleasant things as possible, sacrifice myself as little as possible and live a hedonistic life as much as is reasonably possible. This is a very sagacious resolution which I might steal for myself . It reminds me of George Harrison's wise goals: “To do as well as I can at whatever I attempt. And someday to die with a peaceful mind.”

So, about that little 2019 weight loss wager with my husband and brothers ... We will all weigh in a few days from now, and I'm not even close to my ten pound weight loss mark. I hope we all remain healthy and get fit in 2019, but I still want to win... My hubby might stand a chance this round. He's been going to the gym a lot lately... The brothers have been pretty quiet about their efforts. Stealthy, or in the same boat as me? We shall see...

well eloneen, if you really want to win there's always the option of sabotaging Mr Eloneen's diet an Apple Pie a week ought to do the trick that's assuming that he's got more of a weakness for pie than you do extra benefit - dream stories
