I'm in my fifth straight week of crack of dawn before work cardio routine at the gym 4-5 days a week... I think I might have found a regime that works for me: treat it like what it is - A CHORE - and get it over with!!! My fitness goal for the New Year is more of the same!

So proud of you elophile! I think my best times to exercise (when I do exercise) are between breakfast and lunch (that only works on Saturdays and on vacation days), and late at night while I'm watching the news on TV. I also walk regularly on Sunday afternoons with a friend, and I'm trying to get a few more folks to join us on a regular basis. My hubby wants in on the weight loss wager, too. I'm OK if he wins. My brothers will not win our little bet! I WILL CRUSH THEM!

It's amazing the high number of forumheads who are conscious of their weight and health and are doing (or willing to do) something about it. No one can say we are a bunch of self-abbandoned asses.

You people are nuts. I don't enjoy it or anything. I just do it. Now, if I enjoyed it I would indeed be nuts.

We shovel a path for our postlady across our lawn to the next house, I do the neighbors. Kids! What kids? God forbid their parents let them play outside. Down the block, the other side of the street there are 3 of them that are let loose in the wild, but they aren't allowed to cross the street. Arthur, who is around 8 rides his bike up and down the block. I feel sorry for him. No buddy to get in trouble with. I do keep an eye on him because once in a while mom is out yelling for him when he disappears. He's usually has gone up a drive out of sight. Maybe talking to one of the old boys. Rant? It sounded you had a hard year. Ha! I said it as a joke but you do it for real! Well done. I think that should cover in excess your quota of well-doing and altruism. It's funny how you have observed and know the movements in your whole neighbourhood. No one escapes Command Central! The year was pretty average, the last couple of months were hard. I love the fact that there are still people who name their kids Arthur. A true king's name.

There are so few things that go on in my hood, it's easy to pick-up on something out of the ordinary. I agree, Arthur is a great name.

I've pondered this and although I don't do resolutions I've decided that although it's too late to lose my permanent frown lines (from being generally grumpy) I'm going to try to maintain a mysterious half smile instead of my usual scowl. Every little helps in this miserable world. Plus everyone who knows me will wonder what's caused it
