It does have a secret good bit - if you listen to it on headphones it sounds like Jeff is singing some of it directly into your ear from about an inch away. Well, it did on my headphones anyway. Delicious.

Ah, the definitions of "friend" and "amigo" can have subtle differences between them, so it is technically possible to be one and not the other. Did "Laredo Tornado" teach you that word? I don't know why Jeff assumed that native American indians spoke Spanish.

Helmut83 It may be because Laredo, Texas is a city on the Mexican border.

Helmut83 It may be because Laredo, Texas is a city on the Mexican border. Yeah, but this character was supposed to be a native American, not a Spaniard, a Mexican or someone who lived in the city.

Helmut83 That's all I've got for ya! I've never thought too much (or read anything) about the intended story line or character for that song, honestly (and never cared to dig deeper), so I guess I can't really be of much help there. Sorry! But I guess your original question wasn't for me, was it?. It's just the teacher in me rearing her head again!

Well, it was not really a question, but a thought open for anyone who'd want to pick it up, as was your case. Songwriters are not historians, plus I guess not everything has to make sense in the world of songs' lyrics, so it is what it is: a native American indian who speaks Spanish.
