Very cool tpJL tune that I was not aware of. Definitely will be a Christmas staple from henceforth for me.

Chippa it truly is a classic. I remember it from last year. And I have you to thank for my discovery of this classic: It just doesn't get any better than this!

I don't remember seeing this song on the forum (I could be wrong) which surprises me. I believe first heard/saw it on one of those Christmassy Top of the Pops shows last year and thought it was a flu-induced delusion. It wasn't. It's real. It's Bob in a Tom Petty wig hanging out with Santa -

This is perfect weirdness. I love what Bob is doing while singing, "Who laughs this way ho, ho, ho!" Dasher Dancer Prancer Vixen Eisenhower Kennedy Johnson Nixon Dasher Dancer Prancer Vixen Carter Reagan Bush and Clinton WTTW!!! On my way to the favorite Xmas song thread...

Funny song. I guess you've got to be a Brummie to fully understand all of the jokes and references, but I got a few of them thanks to my personal Brummie guide back in the day (I remember him saying that Birmingham had more kilometres of canals than Venice, and after a few pints he might have said that it was prettier too). Uh, and Birmingham Football Club losing is a well-known fact for any football fan around the world. Nice to have ELO mentioned as well.
Shame on the song for not mentioning the statues of the important guys from the industrial revolution, that's the thing from Birmingham that stood out the most for me.

I haven't got a song of the season today but a band of the season.
It could be because it's Halloween or it could be because I've had a cold for the last couple of weeks but I've suddenly developed a fascination with Einstürzende Neubauten over the last 24 hours. I would post an example song/video but I don't know the least thing about them. I only know they're alarming German goths and their music makes 'The Battle of Marston Moor (July 2nd 1644)' sound like 'Dancing Queen'. Maybe it's a 24 hour seasonal phase brought on by passing spirits or maybe it's because they sound like the headache I've had for the last three days but I could really learn to love them.

Well you couldn't get a more perfect song for today than this one - fresh off Muse's new album, enjoy!
