First impressions - I'm a little underwhelmed!
As the owner of all of these singles originally, I was hoping for a little more. No expansive notes in a booklet? Why not issue those originally released in coloured vinyl in that format again (Livin' Thing and Mr Blue Sky on blue vinyl, Sweet Talkin' Woman on purple vinyl).
I'm usually straight in with collections like these, even with a three figure price tag. At the moment though, I'm not sure smileys-fish-721285

Saw the little promo video about this box set. I'm sick of Mr. Blue Sky being THE ONLY SONG played all the time, to promote everything ELO related.
Is it just me?

No-one is going to buy this on the basis of it including MBS. They'd be better off featuring In Old England Town (Instrumental) for the benefit of those who never bought The Light Shines On compilation back in the 70s!

They sure look pretty! Rather spend my funds on the originals.
Some of the original records have a few different label layouts or extra information on them. Also, some were released in solid and slit centers. I'm just curious about the versions they used.

If these reissues are worth £125, the originals must be worth loads I will trade them in to pay for my retirement There is no way I’m buying these it’s just not worth it.

So it works out at around £7.80 each. Elo singles on eBay sell for around £2-£3 So ,even if you round it up to £4 You're paying around £60 for a box. There's not enough rarity value for me to consider it. Plus,I would really want them to be on the harvest or jet labels which I've always considered go hand in hand with ELO

Maybe box 2 will have more interesting stuff

I feel like they haven’t tried very hard. Afterglow was a treat. Flashback was lovely. This collection, for the money, is missing the wow factor. Booklets & memorabilia. Take a look at the recently released Guns and Roses box sets. I wish ELO would do something like this

I read elsewhere how the box design should reflect the time period of the records.
And, yes. Some swag would be nice!

I agree (I'd be scared no to!) Using the new font on the box is a mistake.

I see no reason to buy this unless you are a new fan.

If I'm buying from the UK, mint to excellent, sleeve and record, I can pay high end $14, if postage is cheap (very rare this). Combine shipping knocks it down some. The prices have gone up since Jeff reared his fuzzy genius head.
$14.00 is £10.61, today that is. The pound is at a low.

I'm a little surprised that this set has yet to appear on Amazon. The other items in Jeff's 'shop', most recently Secret Messages and Wembley Or Bust, have all appeared on our favourite online retailer ( ) for a few pounds less and I was/still am hoping that this box will do the same.
Yes, I've graduated to the status of 'seriously thinking about it' and that usually leads me to a purchase. I still don't understand why there's no booklet or download code or a desire to make them not entirely identical to their original counterparts. Do I really want a 100% facsimile copy of each original release? Can't it just say 2018 on it somewhere?! It probably will. There maybe a few subtle differences to keep collectors on their toes.
That's a whole load of ifs, buts and maybes and all sense of logic suggests that I should just walk away but,........I keep looking at that Sweet Talkin' Woman picture sleeve oh, and the Wild West Hero one and wasn't the harvest label a work of design art? I'm still wrestling with the decision, knowing that I'll bow to the inevitable!
Incidentally, and I know it's a whole new thread for another day but, isn't the picture sleeve for Mr. Blue Sky appalling, especially when you consider what an absolute classic it contains?
