orioles70 The first song is good, but the second one is making me smile on this dreary, rainy Saturday morning! Thanks!

I quite like the first song too, but the second won't play for me

Same as Uno: I quite liked the first song but couldn't watch the video of the second one. They might not have made it to the big time, but what they did was good enough to grant them a fair amount of groupies. They can't complain.

My band played again on Friday night. When it comes to music we didn't get any better, but at least my outfit went through a considerable overhaul (you can barely see it but I even have a handkerchief hanging from my neck!). What do you say, BSJ ? Do you approve of such changes? Also, if the groupies that Horacewimp hired for us were the 4 girls sitting at the back of the restaurant, I'd say they weren't even doing the minimum possible to honor their commitment. Little effort, no enthusiasm, no attempts to go past security and climb on the stage, no vulgarities, no breast exhibition, no bras thrown at us while we were playing... and they call themselves groupies? They have a lot to learn from the ladies on this forum...

I love your stern look as you finish, as if to say "there! beat that!" - I bet the groupies found that so impressive they forgot the whole bra-throwing idea and just stared, amazed.

Good excuse for the groupies! As for the way I finished the solo, I threw the last couple of notes before tempo, like fretting too much, it's very noticeable. I think really it was a look of "damn, I fucked up", but it's great if it went by as an arrogant "beat that, losers" defiant stare.

Oh, Helmut83 , I'm liking the scarf! The hat too! Good man! You kicked ass! Seems the place had a few more fans? Did your groupie show-up? Was the original bass player there? And the gal singer? She looks different. Any new songs? When do you go back? I'm shocked! Shocked! at the lack of quality of those groupies H W hired out!

Oh, ya? And how did that go? I told them if they didn’t pay up I’d send the ninjas round, works every time. The off shore Gibraltar forum bank account is already showing a credit

It's true, most people don't seem to realize. I'll also try to apply your point #2, it sounds clever. In this particular case the bad thing is that I screwed up the last two notes, and the way you close a solo is more important than the rest of the solo. When you screw up the final part you've got no way of coming back or making up for it. Seems the place had a few more fans? Did your groupie show-up? Was the original bass player there? And the gal singer? She looks different. Any new songs? When do you go back? Yes, this time there was a very good amount of public, all of the tables were full so we made a few bucks. Not sure why such a big difference with last time, maybe because last time was still summer holidays. The thing is, despite the amount of public this time, I feel like we killed it on the other show, not on this one. Last time all of the few people there were dancing, singing, clapping, asking for more. This time they clapped a bit from time to time, but they were mostly watching. No one stood up and danced. So in the end I'd rather have a rowdy audience of 12 people than a mild audience of 50. Yeah, our groupie showed up! He's called Roberto. He was about the only one making a bit of fuss. This time the whole starting team was there, bassist and backing singer included. The two we had taken the other time were substitutes. It makes me wonder if the girl that sang the other time (who killed it really) was better at inspiring the public than our usual lady singer. The show was pretty much the same. As I can recall we only included "Can't help falling in love" as a new song. They gave us two new dates to play there on May, but I'm still wondering what to do. The guitarist made a whole mess by trying to steal the show. He started playing 5-round solos in rockabilly songs, it was embarrassing. He raised the volume of his guitar a lot so we all had to do the same and it was a mess. Then he started singing songs that people from the public asked for when he can't sing for his life. I thought he was drunk but apparently he wasn't (which makes it worse). At one point I was so embarrassed and pissed that I almost left my microphone there and walked out of the stage. I'm going to talk to the boys about it but I don't want to be part of such a shitshow ever again, far less in front of people who paid for a decent show.

The way certain people party around here makes keeping the wine cellar well stocked a challenge. It's close to that time of year when we will need Forum accounting forms filled, too.

The larger the audience, easier to ignore you.
Yay! Roberto! Were you able to talk to him?
What an ass. You should bitch. The drummer who has more experience dealing with this behavior should talk to him.
