Instead of Out of the Blue, it's Into the Blue. Pop music has come so far in 44 years pretty good song though vlogdance - what would "Into the Blue" be in Welsh?

The Foo Fighters, under the psuedonym the DeeGees, have an EP of Bee Gees covers being released this week. I kind of love this....

Chippa I love it too! No one can really replace Barry on lead vocals, but he does a pretty good job, and the rest of it is just spectacular! Thanks!

My brother introduced me to Gordon when I was in grade school. He has always been a favorite. We live in the Great Lakes area and I well remember the tragedy of the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975. Gordon's song about the freighter is still played A LOT in these parts. The captain was raised in a Toledo suburb which is just across from where we live.
There's a great doc on Gordon on Netflix. Dude is still touring.
His Summer Side of Life is golden!

Funny story: I enjoy Mr. Lightfoot's songs, but an unfortunate consequence of visiting Busch Gardens theme park in Williamsburg, Virginia, with my family for so many years is hearing his songs piped in non-stop every time we visit the "New France" (Canada) section of the park. Some of our favorite attractions and our favorite park restaurant are there, so we hang out in that section a lot, and we have tired a bit of those same songs over the years...I automatically associate his music with going to that park now. My husband hates Gordon Lightfoot's music now because of that! Too bad, because it's good music. (They really need to change up their music, though. It's not just that one section of the park. We know we're going to hear songs from Celine Dion's French Album in the France section, instrumental music featuring bagpipes in Scotland, etc. And it's mostly the same music every year!! )

When I hear Gordon's name, the first song that comes to mind is Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. And I used to live in the Cleveland area where Great Lakes Brewing makes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter - 3 bottles out of every 12 pack sampler. So by the transitive property of memories, Gordon = Porter.
Unfortunately I grew tired of the "burnt" taste that the roasted malt gives it. I much prefer the other varieties like Eliot Ness amber ale. Mmm, now there's a good every day beer. I wonder what kind of songs Mr. Ness liked to listen to when he was chasing down gangsters - how about Nightrider?
look at Jeff - no shades and Kelly is wearing some sort of ELO medallion on a necklace

His Summer Side of Life is golden! My great uncle worked on some of those big freighter ships that you see traveling the Great Lakes. I remember him talking about the hurricane force winds that could whip up, the same kind that sunk the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior. As for Gordon Lightfoot, I like the songs of his that I've heard. Specifically, Sundown and the gorgeous ballad If You Could Read My Mind.

My dad when a teen spent a season on a Great Lakes freighter. While he enjoyed being on the lakes, he quickly learned he wasn't cut out for the work. I do believe he got the wanderlust shaken out of him. He was a river rat. Spent his summers sailing and canoeing our local river, the Maumee.

Me too, love Gordon Lightfoot, his voice is really special. If You Could Read My Mind is the first of his songs I heard and having not seen him, for some reason I guessed he would be quite tall and bald and sort of alien looking. When I actually saw him it was quite the shock to hear his voice coming out of that face
