Jeff is thinking how things have changed since touring in the 70's!

Bomb sniffer dog at Manchester. All together now: "It's Rover! It's Ro-o-o-o-ver! It's Rover..."

I thought that - annoyingly the dog's security tag is hiding her left hand....

Just back from Newcastle. 7th ELO gig since Hyde Park.... And the worst. Jeff's clearly suffering from a long tour, early on his voice was strained and out of tune occasionally although got better as night went on. Don't get me wrong, if it had been the first time I'd seen him/them I'd be gobsmacked but it was def a step down.
Band were great, very loud and more 'live' i.e., not trying to reproduce exactly the studio sound. Sound was a bit weird at times Jeff's mic way too loud but lead guitar very quiet. Light show marvellous. Crowd seemed a bit flat compared to other ELO gigs I've been to.
Unless the set list changes or there's a new album that'll be my lot I suspect. It's a lot of money to fork out for essentially the same show apart from the lights!

That's a shame. Attending 7 concerts in a relatively short span of time, how could you not be hyperaware of those glitches. I'm surprise he signed on for the UK/European tour after the US without a longer break. Be interesting to read the reviews.

Should have said they played an 19 song set list. About 1hr 40ish.

Yes he is resting his voice and he struggled on a couple ...mr hornal is doing more and more (brilliantly i may add), the performance tonight was the best band performance I've seen since Porchester Hall.

I agree with Timeblue , ROB is kind of over-rated. "Kind of"?

ROB... It shouldn't be surprising that Jeff features his own stuff. Why wouldn't he? So, the fact that he finishes every performance with someone else's song says a lot. I think Ultimately, its a jam session allowing the musicians to go mad and have a bit of fun (I will point out that Mr Lynne NEVER looks as serious as that bloke singing in the clip above )

Ooo, happy belated birthday, Horacewimp ! It looks like it was a great one! Those are some fantastic photos. I'm sorry to hear that the people around you were such curmudgeons, though. Who buys floor tickets and doesn't stand up?
