Not much new but I think we knew that! Simon Mayo said the "film" was brilliant and Jeff said he sees it as a film with a good backing track.
He's just saying now about how humble Jeff is & people texting in giving huge praise to the man.

My mum is just sat here freaking out that Jeff's got thirteen people in his band - it's unlucky!
He did just say thirteen in the interview didn't he?
Jeff always seems to be more in his element when talking about other people in interviews - his new band, Roy, George, Tom etc - than when the attention is on him.
I wouldn't have guessed that Jeff's favourite track from Wembley was 'Xanadu'. I preferred ONJ's version to Jeff's own 'Xanadu' but now I love the Wembley version better than any other version!

I will be the 14th member if you like, I can do spoken vocals and my rates are reasonable.
I liked it when Jeff said “pain in the arse bum”

Just remembered the Mayo interview and quickly tuned into Radio 2 to be greeted with 'Evil Woman'. We've had the volume turned up because the tv show we've just been watching is very quiet - as a consequence 'Evil Woman' is blasting through the house like a Wembley gig. Do you imagine I'm going to turn it down? What do you think!!! Those drums... Thank you for mentioning this, Queenofthehours! I never would have thought to listen to this and it was so exciting to get to hear the interview here in the States instead of hearing about it later. Big hug to you from me!!

Why was it Jeff said that he loved disco?
Because it went "bang, bang, bang, bang and you just have to fill in the holes"?! How can a man who we'd love to think is the magical Dumbledore of music bring songwriting down to such a base and simplistic level! "Bang, bang, bang" indeed! I love how Jeff's mind works.
He did talk about Tom even if he didn't say anything about Richard. It's so sad. Jeff called it "dreadful" which is exactly right .
From the sound of it when Jeff speaks about Mike Stevens, Mike does most of the work with the band so Jeff just has to turn up and play. This probably explains why Jeff's enjoying himself so much these days. All the fun and none of the stress! Jeff seems to really appreciate the new band and it sounds as if he's keeping them.
Whenever Jeff says "at some stage" about his future it's as good as something definite from anybody else. "At some stage" means we can look forward to and are allowed to expect good things rather than remaining in limbo.

Nice interview and great to hear he's planning more live shows. And the usual questions didn't pop up, shows Simon Mayo is probably a proper fan although he did get his Wembleys mixed up.

I'm glad he played those smaller shows before going for the arenas though, proves he's not hiding behind all the special effects which I'm sure he would have been accused of by miserable people on social media.

Great quote from Jeff, he thought the original Xanadu, was "tarty, weak and limp"!! A good name for a band! Clever queenofthehours!

Bah, does Jeff Lynne have to prove anything at this point in his career? Let the haters hate and let the ignorants go on wallowing in their ignorance.
