We all love ELO and Jeff Lynne's music but do you have any interesting or fascinating facts about the band or associated members which are not so well known. My two fascinating facts are: If you type 0.73 on a calculator and turn it upside down it reads ELO Robin Campbell from the Birmingham band UB40 purchased Jeff's Meriden house from him. Daily Mail

Hugh McDowell won the 1978 Coopers Hill Cheese Rolling competition only to be disqualified for improper use of a cello, I believe he still has the scars to this day

The young Arab on the Discover album cover is in fact a giant and the spaceship he is holding is full size. Rumour has it the band made no money from the album as it went to pay the giants enormous food bill.

Actually, the menacing palace guard on the "Discovery" back cover, is actor and comedian Brad Garrett, best known for his role on the TV show "Everybody Loves Raymond".

Robin Campbell from the Birmingham band UB40 purchased Jeff's Meriden house from him. Daily MailI remember reading about this at the time, lovely house but I find it hard to believe that Robin Campbell (who?) had fans camping out and stalking him. It was probably some bewildered groupies who didn't realise Jeff had moved out (I blame BSJ for this, she was in charge of keeping watch, I was in charge of sausages over the campfire) Fascinating Fact: The only odd thing I can remember is that Jeff once contributed a recipe to a charity book. The recipe was for Scorched Sea Trumpet and apparently he drew a cartoon of himself with a frying pan billowing clouds of black smoke and a speech bubble saying "Yummy!"

Jeff nearly got killed over in Ireland in many moons ago....seemingly he was electrocuted when he earthed off a microphone stand. He wrote a couple of songs about it later in his career...thunder and lightning! ..blown away!....ah only messing about the end! But fact! Spose Jeff has always been the "light" in electric" light "orchestra!

If it's out there I'm sure there are people round here who know where it is. Can't remember where I read about it, maybe in one of the old fan club newsletters?

It's my favourite ELO song and you don't even know it's name correctly!
