Today on Pop Master, one of the bonus rounds was "Roy Wood" but no one chose it. Might be worth trying to get on, on Monday!

A question on The Chase today was "Which of these ONJ songs appears in the first line of Samuel Taylor Coleridges poem 'Kubla Kahn?'...

Today, Crawley Town host Leeds United in a Third Round match in the FA Cup. A hillside just outside Crawley, on a summer's evening, in 1998. Louis walks on to conduct the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of his 'Hooked on Classics'. That set done, off go Louis and the 'band'. An acoustic guitar on a stand appears. I kinda figure what the first piece by the other band will be. No disappointment. What followed was a near flawless performance of Fire On High. Bev, Kelly, Mik, Eric and Phil carry on with a set of good 'old bangers'. Then, Louis walks back on with his 'gang' to join Bev & Co to give all of us enjoying the evening a night to remember. Update on the game: in the second half, Crawley lead Leeds 2-nil. Edit: 69 minutes... 3-nil Result: 3-nil. Not Leeds' day.

Nice interview with Roy. I didn't know he played bagpipes on one of the Hooked On Classics albums.

I bet Jeff would have loved the challenge of the reverb/echo problem! Roy's looking good could do with cutting down on the mince pies though...

AFTER the Orchestra
beautiful artwork in this short animated film which imagines a group of aged orchestra members living out their golden years at the Lovely Hearts retirement complex
made me think of the Dylan Thomas poem, "Do Not Go Gentle ..."

BSJ - I replaced the Parthenon FB link with an Orchestra link. I think their page is open enough for anyone to view the short video. Just click "not now" to the FB log in and then scroll down a little to see a video that starts out with Mik and ends with Hux.
