Rainbow-Since You Been Gone. Graham Bonnet has to be one of THE best rock vocalists ever...
Bar owner threaten to throw us out if we kept shoving coin into the jukebox for this song. Really? tell him to do one....

A barmaid in a pub that I used to frequent used to complain about me putting "Stargazer" by Rainbow on the jukebox.
I think it's a great Power Rock song.

His biggest hit in the UK (yes, drummers do have solo hits..take note Bev) was 'Dance With The Devil' in 1974. Bev's version of Sandy Nelson's "Let There Be Drums" bombed when it was released in 1976. Bev once joked in an interview that only fourteen people bought his version of "Let There Be Drums". For those who've never heard it, here it is. Bevan's backed by J. Lynne, R. Tandy and K. Groucutt .
Needed to double check, but I'm one of the fourteen.

I don't remember anything about Rainbow. I also didn't know names of many bands' individual members. Rainbow-Since You Been Gone. Graham Bonnet has to be one of THE best rock vocalists ever...
Timeblue I don't remember this from he 80s but I've discovered it since. This is a great song!

If Bev owned a motorcycle, it would probably be this one.

He could get Chris Spedding to be pillion... Motorbikin', moving on the Queen's highway looking like a streak of lightning.
Motorbikin' Motorcycling.
Here's a 1968 photo of Trev 'n' Bev on Harley-Davidson's.

Bev ( Basher ) Bevan.
Possibly the third best drummer to come out of Brum, close behind John Bonham and Colin 'Cozy' Powell.

I'm glad that if you are going to compare Bev against other drummers it's against Cozy. My mum is totally in love with him. To her the word "drummer" means "Cozy Powell" and all other drummers have to measure up to him.
You ain't a drummer if you haven't played with Sabbath!

I'd rate Cozy above any other Rock Drummer, just have a look at his CV on Wikipedia. Jazz drummer Buddy Rich was the only skin basher that could out drum Cozy, IMHO.
Here's Cozy drumming for The Sorcerers in 1967 performing "Love Is A Beautiful Thing".

Continuing with the Bev/Cozy/Rainbow/rock power drumming theme here - This week I've discovered a band called Deep Purple (yeah, I know!) and accomplished my "Rock" scout badge by hearing 'Smoke on the Water' for the first time past the opening two seconds. But I digress. My developing Ian Gillan obsession led me to Black Sabbath and to...is that...Bev??:
