Bev ( Basher ) Bevan.
Possibly the third best drummer to come out of Brum, close behind John Bonham and Colin 'Cozy' Powell.

I know who John Bonham is, but I've never heard of the other guy since I'm not really informed about that music scene. I'm American, and when I see the name Colin Powell, I think of this guy, the distinguished American Army General and former Secretary of State. I don't think he has the nickname "Cozy," though. He replaced Carl Palmer in ELP (which was fortunate as the band could still be called ELP!)'also worked with Whitesnake and Robert Plant.

Cozy was also in "The Sorcerers", "Youngblood", "The Ace Kefford Stand", "Big Bertha", "The Jeff Beck Group", "Bedlam", "Cozy Powell's Hammer", "Black Sabbath", "Michael Schenker Group" and "The Brian May Band".
Here is the 1974 hit "Na Na Na" by Cozy Powell's Hammer. Enjoy.

His biggest hit in the UK (yes, drummers do have solo hits..take note Bev) was 'Dance With The Devil' in 1974.

His biggest hit in the UK (yes, drummers do have solo hits..take note Bev) was 'Dance With The Devil' in 1974. Bev's version of Sandy Nelson's "Let There Be Drums" bombed when it was released in 1976. Bev once joked in an interview that only fourteen people bought his version of "Let There Be Drums". For those who've never heard it, here it is. Bevan's backed by J. Lynne, R. Tandy and K. Groucutt .
