I ran across this Hyde Park review and just loved it! "The Jesus Of Uncool Is Risen: ELO Live" thequietus.com/articles/16261-elo-live-reviewOf course, we all know Jeff is the coolest person alive but not in that horrible swaggering or "dark and edgy (barf)" way rock stars are supposed to be cool.

".....The run of hits continues. There's 'Livin' Thing', now indelibly associated with the unfurling of Dirk Diggler's monster c**k at the end of Boogie Nights."

This is such a marvellous article and so spot on! ELO certainly were on “majestic form”. A great description of Jeff: “one of the world's loveliest men” (this is probably true). He did indeed appear “genuinely humbled and amazed by the rapturous reception”.
I especially liked how the article paid tribute to Jeff’s roots (“This is the first one we ever 'ad an 'it with...", he announces, still West-Midlands-as-anything despite decades in Hampstead and Hollywood.”) and how, with his “slightly OCD tendencies”, he improved 'Steppin' Out': “"This is a song I never got right", he explains. "It's better now..."”. It’s as if Jeff is speaking about a poorly friend who he has just nursed back to health.
