When I say 'bestie', what I really mean is he occasionally swims by him now and then....

Bee-yootiful Timeblue, love the elegant feelers We had a floater in our tank this weekend, one of the gang went to the big aquarium in the sky. Strange though, we can't figure out which one it was, they go sort of colourless if they've been floating a while and it doesn't look as if any of them are missing *Twilight Zone music*

What species is that fish, Timeblue? It's colours are beautiful. He must look like a young innocent kid besides Muk.

Funny you should say that because he is growing at a remarkable rate.We got him (or her? ??) a few weeks ago and he's already the 3rd biggest fish in the tank! he won't reach Muks size but he'll end up about 9/10" long. He is a Striped Raphael Catfish.

I know he was just a fish but at 16 years old he was a family pet and will be missed.

Apologies Timeblue for being late but sending much sympathy as you say goodbye to Muk. These fish have proper character compared to other tropical species, I can vouch for that as we have one of our own who must be at least 10. According to the aquarium guy when we had ours they are practically immortal and it's good to see what a long and most likely happy life Muk had in your home.

Thanks Uno, to most folk on here they must be thinking 'it's only a fish for gods sake' but Muk was more than that to me and the family. 16 isn't really that old, they can live up to 25years! we went through 5 aquarium upgrades (mainly for him) from 40 litres originally up to the 500 litre set up we have now. The tank will seem a little quieter without him....
